Do we poor gain anything out the any legal verdicts In India?
by mammen antony on May 04, 2010 12:22 AM

We are simply sustaining a bunch of so called legal clowns, whose subsistence depends on the prolongation of even the simplest civil/criminal cases to Decades, and the same case can be solved in a matter of a week if the tripartite(Both the parties and the Judge) sitting is taken sincerely. Here In India Judiciary is a business, for the Judge, Advocates and the court staff to lure money from the litigants, longer the duration of case higher the Income. If you want entertainment, go to any court, just sit there for mo and watch the proceedings. When the Judge arrives reminiscent of the royal Darbar, all advocates bent their anatomy 90degree to show their loyalty(and the same advocate comes out and bad mouth the Judge is a commonplace). It is total melodrama, just a time pass for the Judicial personnel, and the judge does not even take 5 to 6 seconds to read the whole file. Poor guy does not even know what is the crux of the problem, but he feigns he is the most intelligent Judicial luminary .And in a mattter of a minute he adjourns the case to a convenient date, usually after 3months, for no rhyme or reason. If this is the modus operandi of our Judicial Deities, why there would not be, not 3 million pending cases, I say 3 billion pending cases. Nothing will improve this republic, it is as good as a gone case, and it is our sheer bad luck that we are born among these blood suckers.

Personally I feel that the process of prosecution and conviction should be long, as it is now.

Because, India's security forces have a notorious record. They acted at the behest of Indira Gandhi during the Emergency days to harass and even arrest the political opponents of Indira. They also carried out excesses against the innocent civilians in Manipur in recent times.

Moreover, remember the Punjab super cop Gill? Remember how he misbehaved with even an IAS officer like Rupal Singh Bajaj?

Remember how a section of the security forces supplied arms to the Maoists?

In such a country, it is dangerous to make any change in the process of prosecution and conviction. Because, if that happens, there might be a day when the security forces would pick up you and me and kill us by branding us terrorists!

If you remember the film "Maachis" by Gulzar, you would know what I mean! Security forces in India can never be trusted!

I disagree. Criminals are taking undue advantage of this. They know that cases filed by ordinary people will drag on for years and it may end earlier due to ordinary man going bankrupt. Please watch the film Khosla ka Ghosla.
