Will congress apply same yard stick as applied with 2002 Guj riot
by Kamadhenu on Mar 31, 2010 09:14 AM

The image that haunts the most is the one of a half-burned body of a man being eaten by a stray dog and our leaders defending the massacre stating that it happens when a BIG tree falls.
a reminder that there is a case to be made that the Government of India is a lineal, uncaring descendant of the imperial British. The difference between Jallianwalla Bagh and the genocide of Sikhs in 1984 is minimal -- in both cases, we see the triumph of the fascist State and the murderous use of its power. Govt failing to prevent -- the genocide of a small, defenceless minority group. The fact that it was the Sikhs, the most valiant of India's protectors, is a particularly cruel irony.
The fact that India's rulers in 1984 actually justified the horror, that they did not deploy the army until three days later, and most remarkably, that several of those who led the pogroms have thrived (one was recently a central minister) are nothing short of stunning. Official figures claim 2,733 Sikhs were massacred in Delhi several thousand others were killed elsewhere. Given endemic undercounting, it is likely that 10,000 Sikhs were murdered in all.

Dozens of Sajjan Singhs roaming freely in Punjab.
by mpatel on Mar 31, 2010 07:33 AM  | Hide replies

There are dozens of Sajjan Singhs (i.e., Mostly Akali Dal, Congress , Akal Takht, and SGPC leaders who played much worse role than Sajjan Kumar or Kamalnath in Khalistani-terrorism ) still enjoying political power in punjab. Sajjan Singhs are above the law (i.e., no court case, no arrest warrant, no media demonization).
For example:
1) Jagjit Singh Chauhan, who was the leader of dreaded Khalistani Commando force and Khalistani terrorism's public face on BBC, never faced any charges or media fury until he passed away in Hoshiarpur District of Punjab in 2007.

2) Above the law: Ranjit Singh while doing time in tihar jail was elected as Jathedar of Akal Takht (i.e., Occupier of the Highest Seat of Sikh Religion and Supreme Leader of all sikhs). Immediately, He was released on bail pending his appeal against conviction. When bail was challenged in high-court, President K.R. Narayanan signed the order commuting the remainder of his life sentence for the 1980 murder of Baba Gurbachan Singh.

Charity begins at home. Sikhs should start opposing sajjan sighs.

That doesn't mean that Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler are innocent.

Very well said. Two wrongs can't be right. While chouhan and Ranjit Singh(Disgrace that he has the name of Great Ranjit singh) deserve severe punishment for their acts, Sajjan and Tytler's punishment don't have to wait for cleaning up Sikh's house. Those are two independent events and each should be equally pursued. The Sikhs deserve justice for sure !! Its high time !!

Kamal Nath

It is because of people like him that Air-India's Flight No 182 was brought down in 1985. The murderers of innocent Sikhs after the assassination of Mrs. Indira Gandhi have escaped punishment for too long.

Sajjan Kumar, Jagdish Tytler and Kamal Nath should be hanged. The main culprit Rajiv Gandhi has already gone to hell.
