Avoidable loss
by rathore ronnie on Mar 03, 2010 04:40 PM  | Hide replies

These planes went over me releasing streams of coloured smoke when I was driving over the flyover next to Begumpet airport. In the far distance the formation took a sommersault and one of the planes could not recover itself. Within a minute or two the crash happened. Indian Navy is minus two trained pilots, one citizen is dead and three are injured.
Losing lives in war and operations is understandable but not on such trivial shows. Kiran trainer jet has killed many promisng pilots, ask Indian Air Force. Why don't stop this gimmic? Or, else buy good quality jets for pilots to perform acrobatics with relative safety? Today we lost two naval pilots due to false sense of bravado and nothing else.

This country is run by products of reservation and not by merit so do not expect anythign better than this.
Excellence does not come by reservation. It comes with merit.

I Think such shows should be banned near residential areas..they say the pilots tried to minimise the damage before crashing but still 7 people died..so a persons loss is a big damage

Shetty, you are real shitty. Car races and acrobatic games are conducted in exclusive tracks meant for them. No on city roads. Ignorant Shitty.

R V SECURE ???
by SR Ashutosh on Mar 03, 2010 04:40 PM  | Hide replies

Every day our Defence Minister says "We are capable enough to handle any condition, our forces are well READY.

Is this the ready ness, when a planned and pre-schedule exercise meets such incidents, wht wud happen if they have to take an real unplanned action agaist any enemy attack.

couple of days back in Pokhran, a HELICOPTER got crashed during the VAYU SHAKTI excercise, now this,,,, almost one new every fortnight.

CAN OUR COUNTRY REALLY PROVIDE THE FOOL PROOF MACHINES to our BRAVE MAN's,,,,,our MAN's can go to any extend, but they get failed agaist the wasted machines purchased by these corrupt politicians just becasue they get HEAVY COMMISIONS in finalising the deals

The defence minister looks weak talks weak and cannot inspire even an ant let alone an army. He is ther only because he is loyal to the gandhi nehru family.

Scrap all the 160 HAL HJT-16 Kiran aircraft.
by aziz sheriff on Mar 03, 2010 04:36 PM  | Hide replies

We should not think that prehistoric trainer planes like HJT-16 Kiran Mk2 can be used for such acrobatic manoeuvrings. Sadly this has to happen as these aircrafts were designed almost 40 years ago. We allocate a huge slice of budget to these forces. Where the hell is the money going. Why are we playing with innocent lives while satiating the never ending greed of officials. We have the money, technology and manpower to build superior technologies. all that is missing is the initiative and we hope this incident will act as a trigger.
Scrap all the 160 aircraft because iam sure they will all end up same way.
With deep condolences to the lost souls.

Well Said Aziz. I think its only the commitment, dedication and discpline of our brave soldiers that is holding them back from protest and a mass boycott of not flying in any of those shit aircrafts. Else had they revolted the country would have gone to dogs.
