Who says not gain? The Reds governed Bengal with an iron fist for three decades, and are only now in danger of losing their total grip on the state. Lalu prasad governed Bihar like a dictator for nigh on two decades, all with the help of the Congress Party, turning an already backward, feudal, underdeveloped, poverty-stricken Bihar into a nightmarish hell-hole straight from the dark ages. The megalomaniac Mayawati, governs like a dictator, doing as she pleases, wasting taxpayers monies building huge parks for the glorification of herself and to assuage her over-blown ego. There are others, but the only difference was that they didn't declare any emergency- they didn't have to- because they controlled every single lever of power in the state.
Instead of reading and wasting time here, lets promise ourself that we will give the better future to our kids and vote congress out of the power. Also if we make sure that we take 10 people along with us for voting imagine the power of common people. We know that congress is corrupt and its full of money minded people, I don’t think so agriculture minister will come on media and say that price will rise, not even in the banana republic, look at him how he can be qualified as a peon even. Look the record of each minister and we will come to know we are run by people who don’t deserve our votes and tax payer money goes to their kitty. Sonia Gandhi now what to say? We must be the only country in the universe which is run by foreigner? Shame on India and shame on all of us..

What are you saying?Rediff has published many articles proclaiming that India is a superpower.
Indira Gandhi had 2/3 of majority of parliament and almost 20 out of then 22 states under COngress rule. If, evil Indira Gandhi had that desire in reducing corrupt babus and mending politicians asking to revolt against state, she could have done democratically for which people had given her mandate.
Evil Indira enforced emergency to hold on to power fearing defeat in Gujurat, Popularity of JP, Allahabad conviction with perception of mass indians behind her.
It is that emergency which converted into coterie of slaves with fear of vendetta from ruling parties to the extent of forgetting fundamental rights existence in constitution.
What politicians and the coterie learnt during emergency is visible now. They learnt during emergency how to foothold the institutions of state and civil with false promises to the extent of ignoring fundamental rights openly.
All the so called opposition parties and their leaders who tom tom they went to prison during emergency are hypocrites and hopeless liars who didn't learn anything from emergency to revamp the collapsed institutions of democracy , forget about civil institutions.
Positive side, emergency created alternate multi party and coalition governments to come power. Negative side, politicians and political parties didn't learn anything from it.
Calling Fali S Nariman , an eminent lawyer is disgusting if he is the same guy who fooled the bhopal victims by colluding with executive system.
The dcsion of Emergensy was uncalled for,I am agraduate at that time, i fully aware un wanted thing happened, the powerful authority made peaceful people to sffer badly,The emeergency not taught deciplene but made people to suffer. It was bad 17 months. after the Emergency India got Ine more Independace. Thanks and Remember always Jayaprakashnayanji....

BJP is the very very very poor cousin of the Congress. It would need another 20 years to rule India. Congress
Time is ripe for another emergency or armed force take over as politics in india has surpased all expectations and reached a level of NO return, corruption, black money, family monopoly, pricerise, denied justice, illiteracy, lack of social security, and last but not the least the poverty and minority politics is shaming the country to it worst disaster. We need some one to come up and kick out these politicians and corruption from the society.
