by Saurabh Uttam on Nov 17, 2010 02:27 PM

I know its going to be tough call. But it would be too lousy to expect from our politian. We need to unfied group to connect all who work for Tigers. We need to bring some leaders who can be accountable and force govt to sack babus. Infact baba Ramdev can also help as he working on group to fight against corruption seriously from next year.

india is shameless
by sameer bharti on Oct 27, 2010 10:00 AM

i am indian and i know who are we.we are the most shameless breed living on this earth.miscreated by god.and we are today what we are, not because of administrators or politicians or mafias or foreign enemies as always made responsible by us.but we are today as shameless as we are and as scattered as we are or as destroyed as we are because of us only.we are responsible for the situation and we are responsible for what we are today,we are shameless.as we have created this system and we are the one who follow this system which is not here at all.we have created politicians and made them corrupt and now we have followed them ,we have made the administrators and we have made the mafias as we all know who has done, what he has done, but as we are shameless we are living with them all.we dont make any actions to end this situation, hence we are shame less.please speak in public with friends and in parties or functions to join hands to form a new party a political movement as hindustani party and try to take responsibility, please dont leave every property and every issue of this country to these corrupt officials and corrupt government.

Tragic and Sickening!!
by Hema Maira on Jun 15, 2010 10:37 PM

Kudos to you, Shehla for your detailed and damning letter. Alas, it is SUCH a multi-faceted problem including all the points that have been made earlier. What is completely sickening, however, is the RAMPANT corruption, indifference and lack of accountability in government functioning. Rahul or Priyanka Gandhi need to take up the mantle of tiger protection as their grandmother had done decades ago.

The end seems near !!
by sahir p on Jun 15, 2010 11:59 AM

Hello Shehla,

Needless to say that you are doing a tremendous job on this. But then , our gr8 nation doesnt respect human lives, let alone tigers, Leopards, etc etc. The forest areas that have been allocated are a total of 1.3% in which 75% is filled with villages and human encroachments. How on earth is this going to help in increasing the numbers of tigers, let alone saving them. We need this 1.3% to increase and the 75% to decrease and someone like Indira Gandhi who was hot headed when it came to baabus not doing their job and didnt think twice to sack them.

Some day humans also will go extinct
by Manuel Varghese on Jun 15, 2010 10:17 AM

millions of species have gone extinct in the past 200 million years, most due to natural calamities

BUT humans can possibly take the credit for killing off maximum number of species

someday, humans will also GO EXTINCT and there will be noone to shed tears for us

how ironic!!!

life on earth is so precious and fragile and can get extinguished in no time... but we still don't value it

accountability????
by Sreenivasa C on Jun 15, 2010 10:04 AM

There is no accountability for 20,000 human deaths. How do you expect accountability for animals in India.

Punish the guilty - save our treasure
by Prabhaker Cirium on Jun 15, 2010 07:59 AM

All this is mere rhetoric; do you, Shehla, believe for a moment that the guilty will be booked? hah! if that were so, India would have progressed far beyond what it is now - everyone is busy here filling up their own pockets and that of their relatives - at whatever cost. I only wish things would change, but i know they won't - lets hope nature has a few surprises in store for us for all the atrocities that we are committing on it...
