Here is another amazing fact
by vijaya kumar on Jun 10, 2010 04:41 PM

Abhishek Singhvi who is the spokesperson of Congress is also the legal representative of DOW Chemicals (the company that purchased Carbide). Not only that, he is also a member of the committee that is supposed to investigate the Bhopal incident. So on the one hand he is an investigator, and on the other, he protects the legal interests of DOW.

It might be recalled that Singhvi is the personal confidant of Sonia as he is representing her on the issue of the book written on Sonia. So it seems that all transactions (whatever kind) between DOW (Union Carbide) and Congress (the Gandhi family) is happening through him.

It has also been reported in the media that in the last 12 months, Singhvi has gone to St.Lucia 7 times. Incidentally, St.Lucia allows you to keep money in their banks without disclosing anything, much like Switzerland. Now if it is money matters for his visits, whose money is it, and what is the source of earning?

Nayindamon:

Looks like it was a big shock which took 19 years to recover from, by which time BJP had already taken up the role of Rajeev Gandhi, eh? :)

Nice Try, but it won't stick. Because when a case is under Judicial probe and on the process of Judicial verdict, no third party can intervene or criticise, this is the law of our land. Therefore strenuous trying to malign BJP is futile.

OK need not jail him, agreed. but why not get him and his company to pay up adequate compensation for the victims and to clean up the environment which is still contaminated.

The compensation 370 million dollars is already paid by Dow Chemicals(that took over Union carbide) in 1987. The money has been eaten up by the Indian officials.. only a portion has reached the people.

It is expected Arjun Singh tells who called him up to leave this man. The Bhopal collector says chief secretary called up to let this man go to Delhi, it is also for the chief secretary to tell who directed him to call up the collector.

Has this spinelssgovt. able to do this ?
by vijaya kumar on Jun 09, 2010 06:24 PM  | Hide replies

The formation of the Group of Ministers (GOM) consisting of nine members is merely as attempt to pacify the agitated sufferers of Bhopal gas disaster. It again reminds us of N. Parkinsons theory of Committology ! When the head of an organization, may be the Prime Minister of a country, is confronted with an intractable problem admitting of no easy solution he forms a committee to which the problem is referred and the committee in turn forms sub-committee. It is done to buy time by pushing the problem under the carpet leaving it to find its own default solution. Mr. Narsimha Rao, the Prime Minister in the nineties specialized in this art. When questioned by Vajpayee he readily quipped that not taking a decision is in itself a decision !
What the victims of Bhopal tragedy would be more interested than death sentence to Anderson is their rehabilitation and payment of financial compensation which would mitigate their suffering during the rest of their life. Efforts may be continued at the diplomatic level for Andersons deportation to India for trial. If, however, America is not prepared to turn him over to India let the Obama Administration announce a massive financial package for relief and rehabilitation of the gas victims. If he dithers the Government may tell him frankly that the Government may find it difficult to get the nuclear insurance guarantee bill cleared by the Parliament. Has this spineless govt. able to do this ?

yours is a typical Indian answer.... 15000 people died because Union carbied was careless with the deadly cylinders. In united States, or UK , Anderson would have been jailed within couple of years of trial.
