I don't think so. I think it was China.I agree that India provided logistical support like helping Sri Lankan Navy but not with ammunitions.

India did not supply ammunation - that was china which wanted to steal a march over India with the SriLankan govt - but India kept quite when the hindu population of srilanka was bombed, that in itself was a crime

Sorry, u r wrong. Tamils are anti-hindi not anti-Indians. We have more patriotism than u. Because we never say a fellow Indian community as Anti-Indians. By saying that you want a communal race between Indians. Now is it like a behavior of anti-indian and a anti-social alement???

BEGINING OF MUSLIM TERRORISM
by Wahaj Faridy on Aug 01, 2010 04:09 PM  | Hide replies

At one time, Muslims under Ottomans had more
Democracy than West who had Kings and TZars ruling them.

In 1908 West shunned three NO WAR Pact proposals by Ottomans, and soon attacked them on fabricated grounds a la Iraq in 2002.

Millions of muslims were killed in this aggression and land divided by West and distributed to warlords who all went on to become Kings.

For big section of Muslims, this Mayhem and destruction of their politics was too big a provocation and they TURNED ANTI-WEST

Agreed that at one time, there were more liberal muslims - more due to the influence of the local cultures, ex: zorastrian influence in persia, hindu influence in India (sufi), but true islam takes over, then all you get is terrorism as is the case now

contd..

Soon after imposing WWI on Muslms that destroyed Ottomons, West went on to support Zionist Ethnc Cleansing of muslims from Palestine.

Palestinians anyway had welcoe settling in Palestine. They claimed ews were their Brothers an welcome in Palestine in 1913 declaration.

But, inorder to control that and themselves, numerically smaller Jes were settled there by force and Palestinians evicted thru Massacres.

Worst, those Evicted by force and Violence were branded as Terrorists by soldout western media.

Mr Wahaj we have no problems with ordinary common Muslims in India Pakistans creation by dubious means and subsequent happenings in Indo -Pak relations is the main cause for this negative feelings Also our Psudo secular politicians bending backwards to appease minorities to the extent of making Hindus second class citizens in our land (Pandits in Kashmir) drives moderates to anti muslim groups This also is exploited by Politicians Basically Indians are more tolerant than any other race, civilisation in this planet Your making Muslims a mild race does hold much water for an ordinary Indian like me

At the time of ootamans maybe Muslims might have got greater freedom, not the other religions.I dont think that at the time of ootman empire ,expansion was done by love and care, it was done by sheer brute force and mass killings which was recorded in history. At least when west ruled, places like India and other countries beinfited because of Industrial revelution

India Should learn from last Lebanon war
by Old Monk on Jul 31, 2010 10:25 PM  | Hide replies

Israel during the last Lebanon war bombed the hell out of Lebanon by cluster bombing the Hizbollah terrorists. Terrorists only understand the language of terror. Violence is neccesary to control them, just as you need to do pest controll at home to kill and check the vermin pests, you need superior weapons to fight the terrorists. It is they who thrust the war on others and therefore they need to be routed and destroyed.

To fight the terrorists one should have superior weapons. On the night of 26/11 at Mumbai if one single cop was carrying at a matching weapon similar to AK47 there would not have been so many casualties. Those Countries who sign dont face the problems, what Israel, India face. Hell with the International opinion our Govt should do the best it deems fit for its citizens.

i liked your rationale...
but when seen that we are forced to do something which is against our principle of nonviolence, it hurts...but we dont have options either.

but ofcourse we can take a few steps in avoiding civilian casualities especially by using smart weapons (than just banning a class of weapons) which gets inactivated in a time bound manner.

i will not agree to the fact that Israel uses cluster bombs in populated are is not good...all the region is not filled by hizbollah...innocent children, women and several underprivilaged also gets killed.
you are absolutely right the countries which denouces a particular class of weapons are not faced with catastrophe for being lackadaisical in defence (unlike what we have), especially the west who are late demmmons turned anngeels (all colonialists used brutal force), who once in a while take such cosmetic treaties...while being members of NATO.
atleast a few countries who are victims like combodia, vietnam or Indonesia has more legible reasons.

the so called principle of non-violence has given us 1300 years of slavery and again moving towards the same. such dumb talk of nonviolence really sucks big time. peace is desirable but not at the cost of nurturing demons thats i think our philosophy teaches. and we became enslaved as we forgot this golden rule.

the problem with us is we speak of non violence while being weak...non violence policy needs lot of courage, for that you have to be strong both physically and mentality wise....

you can defenitely practice and to some extend enforce non violence just by being strong ...just like a strong police force keeps the society civilized.

so still we are not strong enough and courageous enough nonviolence is as you said 'dumb talks' only.

It is hypocrites who eat non-veg and talk non-violence that is the problem the people in government are not saints so such saintly philosophies don't suit them and they end up being hypocrites and having double standards. In no way they are nonviolent in life but hide under its grab to be cowards and their ultimate desire to loaf. Non-violence is just to cover their inadequacies. Beside a person so horrible mutilated can never be satisfied, and science proves this and the reason Gandhism failed and the country was partitioned.

Wisely said!!!
Today these guys want to ban this category of weapons...tomorrow they will say."lets ban automatic weapons of all types"...Are countries like India (Surrounded by hostile and primitive Hard-liners OR highly advanced untrustworthy countries)supposed to fight these highly motivated suicidal fanatics with stones??!!
In fact, it would be a great idea to bomb the sweet crap out of the damned border areas on the Pakistani side...
Make it a hideous killing field with Anti personnel mines and cluster bomblets with delayed fuses...That way the bloody insurgents will commit their Jihadi suicide on that side of the border, even before crossing over to India.
We shouldnt be a part of this treaty. War is being thrust on us by these extremists and their hawkish masters. Its about time we give them more than just a bloody nose.
