(they pay sales tax) to sustain IITs. The IITians go to the US, make it their home and foget about their half-naked mother India. Nothing to be proud of.

Is that a requirement to look at things objectively. Would a half naked tribal, who gave his bit of taxes but did not get much from the system designed by the congis, have to donate to his school to question anyone who has the used the system to his betterment???

he is at least giving money for some good cause wherever it is ..unlike some of other community fellows who ask for subsidies and reservations from govt. and give nothing back to their community.... yeah they give handsome contributions to al qaeda or taliban or LeT to kill more innocents..

i agree that he is giving back something. But what has he given to his roots where he got speak, read, basic knowledge.
Its simply business u know .Normally people say after acheiving something that i like this my family thaught this.
Has his family not taught him to love his roots where he started like school,IIT.Has he got everything by his own and got knowledge from america only. These people are selfish and unpatriotic and never need to help their mother land.
There is no point in simply telling that he is indian and say he has acheived.
i/we Should be ashamed instead that indian who has got all the basics from here hasnot given something to roots.

Think beyond a country...try to appreciate any generous deed instead of being critical.

You might also want to ask people from the developed countries to think beyond their countries. Well, not something that you will want to understand. Double standards.

Anand 'Bill' Julka, who came to the United States with a $1,500 student loan from a government-owned bank in India in 1968, has gifted $6 million to Cleveland State University, the largest single scholarship gift in the university's history what a .....! laon from india to go abroad and donate money in america why you are not thinking other way man that if you wouldn't have got money first time to go america you must be one of the IIT,ians in india working for some private farm. why don,t you do the same for India wakeup man .If you have done something here too than I take my words back.

He probably paid back all of it long ago. You are barking against the wrong tree. Look at Sonia Gandhi family- millions looted from India- all in Swiss banks, why don't you ask her to give the money back?

Student loan and donation are two different things. He must have paid back the loan with interest long time back. I'm sure the bank did not "donate" the loan to him, so he has no obligation to donate anything to the bank or the govt.

As to why he is donating in USA instead of India, it is his personal choice and there is nothing wrong in donating to the society in which one lives.

This article does not state that he has not donated any money to his Alma Mater IIT. He probably did or did not. It does not matter. If he can generate jobs in India which will benefit local population, that will be great. I hope he is doing that.

Reddy- Ask Sonia and YSR son to donate. They have looted millions, and it is time to give back some of that.

Nice to know that Mr Julka gave $6 millions to an US university for giving a master degree through part time study. I hope he would donate more generously than that to the IIT for receiving world famous BTech degree.

What did he gave back to India ?
by Corba Sub on Jul 23, 2010 01:37 AM  | Hide replies

So what did he really gave back to India, the country that helped him to grow ? He should have used all subsidized education and bank loans to migrate to US.
Why are we so obsessed with these NRI's who are very selfish and cunning ?A new law should be passed to ban any one returning back. That helps with the population also. We don't need your money.
