AT THE END OF THE DAY
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Jan 19, 2010 01:23 PM  | Hide replies

At the end of the day what sort of system does one leave ? Unfortunately - he left Bengal a coorupt and also domination by thugs .
A filthy city and people more parochial than many.
No need to say all other states are like that ? That is pity we compare with worst not the best.
What did the underpreveleged - I do not like to call them SC,STand OBC as these are political freebies doled out- what I mean is uplifting the below povert line .Many daily labourers lost their daily bread thru Bandhs . YES ! nothing to be rave about.

u r really a filthy person. though i am hard core anti-cpm but your language comple me to write this message. i am in delhi for last 6 years. i was been in mumbai and other cities. calcutta (kolkata) is far better to live comparing to these cities. 'what bengal think today India thinks tomorrow,- is may not seem relevant today. But u will relize soon that this statement is true forever.

Stop living in false pride please. Can you please explain why Kolkata is better than Delhi or Mumbai? Please give points for your answer.

The five reasons are:
1. Cost of Living
2. Care for people
3. No showoff like people in Delhi and Mumbai
4. No communal violence
5. Warmth in the people...

There are reasons which may make Delhi a better place...but asa middle class bengali...I would prefer Kolkata...at least the Bus Conductor does not say"tu" to the passengers here

They were the best of friends, in spite of their political differences.

And it is proved that those who accuse Jyoti Basu of insincerity or immorality know nothing about Jyoti Basu's struggles, hardship and sincerity - as told here by Siddhartha Ray!

Phalguni, it is only expected. The people of WB who have been affected due to the wrong policies of LF (with Basu at the helm of affairs) - are certainly justified in hurling criticism towards Basu & his party. I'm sure harsher posts are reserved for others like Biman, Buddha, Karat etc.
People from other states are blaming bengali ppl as they are surprised at the fact that LF was allowed to ruke WB for 33 long years in spite of poor performance. I don't blame them as they don't know how CPM remained in power for so long. They don't know about the vote machinery of CPM in WB. Also, they don't know that there was no strong opposition in WB as CPM cleverly converted some from their opponent team as their own. Thank God with EVMs and with an anti-CPM Govt in centre, it has been possible to establish free and fair poll in WB since last loksabha elections. Now everyone would see how many ppl actually support CPM.

CPM always had a anti party in the centre...EVMs were there in 2006 polls also, which the LF own with absolute majority....however their strength has come down in the last few years...the reason is they lost touch with teh common people....and for your information our Beloved "DIDI" is even worse...she is good for irragurations only...please take a ride in the Kolkata Metro from Tollygunge to Garia ...ooops...From Maha Nayak Uttam Kumar to Kaji Najrul...u would know what i mean to say.....

Never felt ashamed when women were r_aap_ed in day light.
never felt ashamed to kill kids and throw them into ponds.
never felt ashamed for killing farmers.
never felt ashamed cultivating goonda raj and destroy democracy.
Never felt ashamed destroying police system.
never felt ashamed to lead a life style like richest capitalist in spite of projecting himself a communist.
Never felt proud to get admitted to his own state Govt. Hospital.

forasmuch, both were partners in crime.on 1 hand sidarth, (now doing lyke wake)as CM in mid 70s, slaughtered umpteen brainy in the guise of stamping out naxal movement, on the other hand, jyoti as longest serving CM of any state (which is his only claim to fame)ensured that even "rising from ashes" for WB would be a Sisyphean task in years to come. both these folk devils deserve to be pilloried.
