I am amused at the various interpretations of which fighter is better. Multirole aircraft as the name suggests can perform various missions either simultaneously or specific to task. We need to consider lots of things. So all my dear friends let the IAF choose what they need, the rest of you including me are only onlookers from the sidelines.
Personally I think the competition boils down between Mig -35 and F-16/F-18. It makes much more sense to have Mig 35 as Indians are very familiar to the plane as it is an improvement on Mig 29 and Navy has already ordered Mig 29 k and Airforce is operating Mig 29.
yeah friends,you are right ,us had stopped the inventory line of f-22,ut india ,after succcssfull lca is heading towards fifth generation,the design of indegeneous fighter is almost similar to f-22 raptor.and in this way,india will have two fifth gen. stealthy fighters ,one(su-pak-fa)by 2017 and second(indegeneous by 2020.

i guess the F16,15 and typhoon are different class of fighters when compared to su30 MKI...hence comparison may not be correct...
Indo russian fgfa is not similar to F-22 or f-35 coz we have different operational spectrum unlike usa...
Also our fighters are expected to cost very less compared to f-22 and f35...and some of the technology will not be comparable
Su-30MKI is not a 'medium' multirole combat aircraft which the IAF wants...it is quite heavy class.
IAF may have different operational requirements and all cannot be met by Su-30MKI alone (though it is one among the best aircraft in its class)

SU-30 MKI can be defeated only by F-22 and F-35, even 50 SU-30 MKI can wipe out pakistani air force. PAKISTAN WILL BE SHIVERING.

U mean F22 Raptor? If that is the case then we can relax. The US govt. has already stopped the production and they have very few in their inventory.

but they already have got 187 or so f-22 which is unmatched fifth generation fighter.
they closed the production line probably because it is costly and of 1990s tech...they are investing in f35 which is expected to go in production by the end of decade...
F35 is slated to be carrier capable also unlike FGFA which has not been mentioned so far.MCA may be fitted to this role.
Indo Russian strategy is to meet the operational requirement with not so hi-fi aircraft which is cheap to make.
while US and west goes for hi-fi (and not all essential) tech at unaffordable cost.

india have already developed its 4.5 gen lca, and apart from sukhoi-pak fa(fifth gen. fighter),india is also working on another 5th gen,multirole fighter,the design already came into exixtence,you need not to worry,just concern about ur country,you porki

Most of the IAF Su-30 MKI Irbis are the 4.5 generation fighter jets, aquisition of this order, IAF will give shiver to all asian countries except russian air force. After these acquisitions, we can wipe out old technologies jets of PLAAF and PAF. Pakistan and China air force will go inside hole after watching IAF.
