Most of the IAF Su-30 MKI Irbis are the 4.5 generation fighter jets, aquisition of this order, IAF will give shiver to all asian countries except russian air force. After these acquisitions, we can wipe out old technologies jets of PLAAF and PAF. Pakistan and China air force will go inside hole after watching IAF.

After all the Eurofighters, MiG35, Mirages, Gripens have been paraded, we'll need to settle for the F/A-18(super hornets), if that's old tech and F-16 air and ground fighting system too expensive, then the counterpart of the Typhoon, the F-22 will be sought to conform with committments under Nuclear fuel supply deals. Isn't Airbus Industries complaining on these lines?

Yes there may be some drawbacks in MIG 21 fighter planes and it is very unfortunate that we are losing our patriotic sons (IAF pilots). these MIGs should be grounded. Dont forget that we buit our own Supercomputer "PARAM" when US refused us to part a simple computer. Similarly we can build our own fighter planes. JAIHIND

U are wrong, Porki, its advantages far outweigh its drawbacks. It gave excellent service for over 10 years or so and was a leading fighter plane in India's armoury for many years.
u dont know anything but the topic but are good in dousing it with PorkiGas.

the size of the country does not matter at all. see the size of israel. besides Pakistan is small worry for India (nuisance value), our main and bigger opponent is China. We should be prepared to take them, that is more important ..

looks cant shows any reliablty and potential fighting power ,look at mig 21 it is more sweet and sexy ,but it is flying coffin for india ,we had lost so many pilots ,wich r more expensive then any single fighter plane.

From last 8 to 10 years this unfortunate country is trying to procure this amount of fighter jets, but still it is under process...under US pressure this govt. only can buy from them only. Stop this noncense drama & playing with innocense people of this country...

I fully agree with you. India should reject U.S. pressure and buy ony tried and tested Russian aircraft. Better still, they can spend this huge amount of money on developing India's indegenous fighter aircraft. Aftar all, we have a great company like HAL which is capable of working wonders in the field of aircraft technology.
