Negative effort - negative results
by kush chatterjee on Feb 17, 2010 09:01 AM

The seeds this guy sowed by subverting and bending the law in Pak & US is yielding tantamount results in both the countries.
No wonder US is sliding downhills. And for Pak, the lesser said the better.

Does not add up
by Jay Shah on Feb 17, 2010 08:06 AM

Something does not add up, because Zia jihadified Pakistan using Wilson's help. Therefore, even if America rebuilt Afghanistan, the Pakistan problem would not remained just the same.

But it seems that the guy lived in a religiously fundamentalist area in the US. Did that cause him to be attracted to Zia in order to strengthen the hands of similar minded religious barbarians in the region?

a sordid chapter of wrong means to wrong ends
by Ramesh on Feb 17, 2010 08:02 AM

something like what Churchill did
-----------------------
To compare Churchill with his profound intellect, mastery over the language and an incisive global perspective to this crass opportunist and a wheeler-dealer would be travesty of truth and shows how low current American standards have become. The American political faces Indians have seen as friendly include greats like Galbraith, Chester Bowles, Pat Moynihan , John F Kennedy, and many of present more times recent vintage. Besides, the ones Americans who have impacted our open civil society are mostly non-political stalwarts, men of sciences, technology, literature, movies and other arts.

This Wilson guy has done long term damage to the image of USA. But the good deeds of countless other Americans shall more than compensate.

He has done long term real damage as well, which is evident in the events of the troubled region, and which surely needs very thoughtful handling, as great Churchill would have done.

How much of this was because of his fundamentalist motivations?
