Media should behave responsibly. There might be detention based on many facts, and released after the detainee's innocence is proved. While beating the trumpet of alertness of security agencies, the detainees name, country and everything is made publice, which will have negative impact. If carmichael is innocent he should not be harassed anymore.
I am not an engineer, but i had a credible doubt: with just antenna and binoculars can you track planes from 100KM away...i used to beleive that a moderate radar could also pick planes from at the best 50-80 KM away due to earth horizon.
if a hand held (or that could be kept in a room) device can track planes 100Km away why to get awacs (which is said to be capable of tracking at 400KM away) ...buy 4 of these devices and keep at the intervel of 100km (pun intended)
I think the officer out of enthusiasm is exaggerating what he caught ...engineers pls correct me if i am wrong
