The film is on a large scale and beautifully shot, but the story doesn't live up to even half of that. The director cannot seem to decide whether he is making a love story, telling the story of a man's journey or making a statement on the biases that pervaded the US after 9/11.
Words like jihad, 9/11 and al Qaeda are thrown around without context. Khan's actions seem contrived and out of line with the story. A lot of the supposed emotional moments seem gimmicky. The acting suffers as a result.
Any film that underestimates its audiences and dumbs down its content is letting itself in for a failure. "My Name Is Khan" is a huge disappointment.
It's not a movie it's a documentary to provoke sympathy for the musslims who are targeted because of their religion .
Only see it if you can sit through 3 hours of pro muslim proapaganda .

What exact authority does New York Post have on other cultures?
Even if the article is written by an Indian author, yet, the mandatory American paranoia will never admit anything that might even remotely suggest that they are flawed in some way, especially by a non-American.

You are right Dheeraj. Thanks for the controversy the movie would have been super hit even if SRK had only squashed flies or played Frisbee for all 3 hours.
Saw the movie..like pandora habitats in Avatar speak English here an autistic person has command on language & has great social interaction...mr khan is all but a great business mind. Never ever will there be a day when an autistic foreigner will reach a place in mainland USA to help while government sleeps. They know how to protect their CITZENS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE in the world. The best was his hindi speech in that small town church. Kajol is good as usual but screems a little more than reqd. Overall its more feel good factor for Karan Johar that he has attempted something different than 20 bedroom house and New York Broklyn bridge... go and watch ...this film clearly depicts difference between Aamir Khan and SRK and whos the best in business...!

I guess the job of the Mumbai police is to ensure that the film is released properly (as if they r the producers n distributors of the film) and the job of M'rashtra cabinet is to see film first day fisrt show while flaunting the tickets. In the history of mankind no other fild would have got such an govt. support for its promotion. Really Jai Maharashtra (minister n Policemen)! Awesome job
