This is not a perish-or-polish battle for Congress - they are just trying to get the allies in line. Pretty soon, the CBI will bungle its case against Raja... in exchange for Congress buying Karuna's consensus on all future issues. Have we forgotten history so quickly? (Anyone remember a certain MSY of UP or SS of Jharkand?)
The congress saying that the are acting against corruption is total lies. They have allowed so many scams to go undetected/univestigated/just closed. A glaring example is how the Congress acted in the Bofors case. The first JPC under Shankaranand just gave a clean chit to Rajiv Gandhi and also said that there was not kickbacks. It was later proved that there were kickbacks.
In the present case, the DMK is pushed to the wall and surely cannot do much. This is the price they have paid for aligning with the Congress which can ditch you when you are down. Sure, in the present case Raja has to be prosecuted.
BTW, are these raids of any consequence? Only time will tell, for, there have been reports that all concerned were give prior information of the raids. One News Channel also reported that Radia's office destroyed papers and burn them outside their office for 4 to 5 days and only after that was the, the raids started. So, one wonders what will be the result and whether the oney will ever be recovered.
