Julian Assange was ahead of this vote because of multiple dupe votes by his admirers (including myself),but Time always doesn't select the one to get most ratings to become a person of the year. Also I don't see the wikileaks hacked cables doing any impact on citizens of the world its just like hearing the gossips of your neighbours.

Breaking - Julian Assange is out on bail
by Devdutt Nayak on Dec 17, 2010 02:18 AM

Julian Assange is out on bail - walked out of jail this evening at 6:00pm GMT

Rediff seems to forget which news is more important to journalism and freedom of speech.

The British court are probably not as corrupt as their legislature, or as bad as US/Swedish judiciary either.

Tool for identity theft and people profiling for powerful
by rishi on Dec 17, 2010 01:57 AM  | Hide replies

He has created a tool for procuring identity theft, profiling and ideological inclination of people which can be researched if the person shoots to prominent/relevant position. The weaknesses/tastes/thought pattern can be a goldmine then for the powerful.
It is also a tool for spreading rumours if you know how people are socially linked up in a network. The chain mails were primitive version of this.
All rewards are just agenda driven for pushing people who further your strength.

Rishi,

Every single initiative has it's own Pros & Cons. It's up to individual which & what way he wants to use it.
