He has created a tool for procuring identity theft, profiling and ideological inclination of people which can be researched if the person shoots to prominent/relevant position. The weaknesses/tastes/thought pattern can be a goldmine then for the powerful. It is also a tool for spreading rumours if you know how people are socially linked up in a network. The chain mails were primitive version of this. All rewards are just agenda driven for pushing people who further your strength.
For me the person/s of the year were the 12 miners who showed unbelievable endurance staying underground for so many days. Nothing cna beat hat feat of courage.

Nothing great those 12 people did. It was a matter of survival for them and I guess anyone who would have been there might have done the same thing. You need to appreciate the innovativeness which Mark had to create something amazing called, facebook.

Surviving 6 months in the dark, underground no big deal? What is so innovative about Social media? I would say building an internet site is no big deal. What next Twitter CEO person of the year?
