2G &India
by Mookiah Iyengar on Dec 13, 2010 01:41 AM  | Hide replies

Ther rest of the world has moved on to 4G networking including some small neighbors of India while India is involved in some speculative loss due to 2 G contract. And they shut down down the parliament. What a primitive democracy? I am wondering whether this swamy guy has got any decent education other than some vedic chantings. What else one can expect from the only country where they have a govt/bank holiday for the goddess of eduaction and yet 50% of them are illiterates. Ponder over these and think about how to bring 4 G to India . REMEMBER THESE SWAMY GUYS WILL TAKE YOU BACK TO STONE AGES.

you are not worried about the 2G scam, and you want to go ahead with new technology of 4G, and they will cheat more money in that.do you want to double the scam amount 1.76 lac crore * 2.
Let your future technology advancement not make you blind about the current issues.

Yeah. Bring 4G and double the scam amount to Rs. 352 cr. from Rs. 176 cr. in one stroke. The question before the people of India is "has the exchequer been cheated for Rs. 176 crore or more ? " The answer is "yes". The next logical Question is " Who is at fault ?". The answer is the UPA government. Now take action on whosoever is responsible. Whether it be the PM or the minister concerned. That is all.

Why is the upper-middle/higher class silent now?
by nisha thoas on Dec 12, 2010 11:23 PM  | Hide replies

The upper classes of our society, woke up during the mumbai terror attacks, coming out in full force shouting slogans against people in power with messages like 'no taxes','let corporates rule instead of politics etc' and lighting 100s of candles as a means of protest. Not a word is being heard from them aside from a few online rantings against B Dutt who is just a mere pawn in the whole sorry saga. Those poor souls who at that time wanted India at the hands of corporates didnt realise that such a system was already in place. The corporate-politico-journo nexus is ruiining our country, destroying our fabric of society and trust, and we can only watch. But it suits us(the upper middle/high) to be ignorant, as the we are somewhere in the first lot of beneficiaries when corporates have a big say in the running of our country. The wealth creation/monetary perks which trickle down is not going to change,or in fact may improve, which suits us just fine. Lets admit it, we are increasingly a nation of hypocrites. I am just wondering had such a thing had happened in a European country, the peoples anger would have translated into action and heads would have rolled. But here the rich an the mighty are accorded special status and the honest hardworking employees way down the line just get on with the lives, knowing that they are powerless to do anything.

Remember Arundhati Roy's statement about 'India's stupid middle classes and their stupid Bollywood heroes with their stupid biceps and stupid machine guns' ?

Ms. Roy made that remark to ridicule the general middle class opinion prevailing in the country against assertion of rights by the disposessed sections of society (which in the extreme, translates to radical action such as naxalism). She made fun of the attitude of the middle classes by which they adored Bollywood heroes who bashed up villains and sprayed bullets in the service of justice while at the same time shouting in unison against real life activism against denial of justice !

Well, the stupid middle classes of India have been proven stupid once again with the unravelling of the Nira Radia tapes, 2G spectrum scam, etc. !!

And their stupidity reaches its pinnacle when they bray in chorus in praise of the rich corporates (forgetting that their interests are never the priority of these corporates) !!

Is it because he hopes not to draw attention to the fact that other parties such as the BJP have also long been on the payroll of Reliance ??

PM Should resign
by paul sebastian on Dec 12, 2010 06:14 PM

PM should resign taking moral responsibility of the country's partyman including his party selling off Indian assets for meager amounts. He should resign taking full responsibility for keeping the currency on high value to promote import and reduce export. No wonder, India is importing more cars when recession hits all the world.

Dr. Singh's policies and vision failed to take India to new world. He give away our 'independent foreign policy' for economic considerations. He give away our quest for self sufficiency.

Dr. Singh should resign.

If India was a developed nation, the scandals of these magnitudes would have removed the governments with in weeks.
In India,we are used to corruption and take it in stride.
JPC rejection means some unknown fear.
