The author, Altaf Makhiawala in his quest to eulogise his "mentor" appears to have resorted to some misinformation/concealment of facts in order to gloss over two very important facts about the "accidental" death of Omar Khalidi.
1. According to Altaf Makhiawala, Omar Khalidi's death resulted from "a tragic CAR ACCIDENT in Boston on his way to work" when the reality is that death was caused by being struck by a train at the Kendall Square MBTA STATION in Cambridge, Massachusetts. There been some suggestions in Cambridge, Massachusetts that this was a case of SUICIDE rather then ACCIDENTAL DEATH. We will just have to wait for the inquest verdict for the confirmation of SUICIDE vs ACCIDENTAL DEATH argument. 2. At the end of the article it is claimed that"Omar Khalidi WAS a staff librarian at the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts", implying that this WAS still the case at his accidental death. thereby conveniently concealing the fact that Omar Khalidi's association with MIT libraries had ended in October 2010 and he was no longer there in that capacity.

We will never know whether it was a suicide or an accident

Only thing we missed is his 'opinion' about acquittal of narendra modi by SIT for gujr10ts! It has come only in TOI as headline. If this news is true, we want all of the pseudoseculars to be either punished or doing situps for a character assasination of serious magintude. This kind of propaganda in India and abroad is unpardonable.
I always break out laughing uproariously when I hear the expression "chaste Urdu". Urdu is a language that is the illegitimate offspring of Hindi, Persian and Arabic, and came into being as the "camp language" of soldiers and other working classes in the middle ages in India. The badge of honour for Urdu speakers today seems to be how many Arabic and Persian words can be strung together in converstion and writing using Hindi grammar. What the heck is "chaste" about that?? Can you jokers stop using this expression "chaste Urdu" once and for all? Thank you kindly...
