why doesn't our media mourn 26/11 martyrs in the same way??
by Moshadi Maino on Feb 06, 2011 01:02 PM

26/11 martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan's uncle Sri K Mohanan succumbed to his injuries...

but our great media doesn't highlight it. I see no pictures, no interviews with his kith and kin.

Instead we are asked, nay forced, to mourn for a Kashmiri (who probably didn't even consider himself Indian).

I ask you to answer honestly, "Did you mourn for the recent Moscow airport terror victims the same way you mourn the death of your family member?"

Our condolences with Tufail, but that doesnt justify Jihad..
by Neo Indian on Oct 26, 2010 07:50 PM

As a fellow Indian, we do mourn your loss too, Mr. Mattoo. Police brutality is condemnable and we share your concerns.
Similar instances are recorded in a lot of places in india... including the often forgotten grief of those who lost their loved ones in the innumerable terrorist attacks and bomb blasts in Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur etc etc... It is unfortunate, but we move on.
Using police apathy as a cause to wage war against the nation and indulging in anti-national demonstrations of stone throwing which have grievously injured a lot of Security forces - who have shown remarkable restraint, despite being taunted so - doesnt make amends.
Just a thought, but arent the Policemen human beings too and Kashmiris as well???
Who are you fighting against Kashmir? If you stop fighting, then the security forces will not have any business being there at all. We are still a democratic country, not China and we have seen similar instances in Punjab, Assam and Nagaland, where the security forces were withdrawn once the threat of secession and border security ceased.
Kashmir needs to introspect deeply to pull itself out of its own mess and integrate with the rest of the nation before they are scorned and made the object of apathy among other Indians.

Many Pak youths giving up Islam
by om shanti on Sep 06, 2010 07:41 AM

ISLAMABAD: A handful of Pakistani Muslim youths are beginning to question the existence of God and in the process giving up Islam to become atheists.

Still a small number, the trend seems to be telling of pressures that the image of militant Islam has had on them. A Facebook group has been floated for Pakistan's agnostics and atheists by Hazrat NaKhuda, a former Pakistani Muslim.

At last count, the group had over a 100 members. In a thread started on the discussion board on "How did you become an atheist", Hazrat writes, "I used to be a practicing Muslim. I used to live in Saudi Arabia. I have done two Hajs and countless Umrahs. Used to pray five times a day. When I turned 17-18, I realized that the only reason I was a Muslim was because my parents were Muslims".

Questions..
by om shanti on Sep 05, 2010 07:04 PM  | Hide replies

It is very painful when a parents lose their growing children. But at the same time, people like his parents should ask the goons who are instigating into stone pelting and other such activities..

1.How will those terrorists justify the death of an innocent in the existing turmoil created on the basis of an illusionary ffanstasy Kashmir world.

2.Do the separatists have the solution with them? What they think would break the impasse?

3.Does Kashmir means only the part which is in India? Why not POK as well ? Is it that only people in this side of the border should shout slogan and on the other side should remain silent?

4.Why the separatists donot explain the truth to the people of Kashmir that his Kashmiri brothers in POK are living third class citizen's life in oppressed conditions? Are they not aware that they are not allowed to campaign for a unified Kashmir ?

4.Is it that because India is a democracy, the kashmiris have all the right to be violent and is it that kashmiris in POK should lead a dog's life because there is a hooligan government over Pakistan?

Unfortunate what has happened to Tufail & many Kashmi
by Sunil Dharam on Sep 05, 2010 07:04 PM  | Hide replies

Unfortunate thing that happened to Tufail is very tragic indeed, think about kashmiri pandits also whose entire families were lined up and massacred in cold blood by islamic militants in kashmir, including women & young children (even younger then Tufail). There is 50-50 chance that Tufail was accidently killed by police, but there is not even 1% chance that kashmiri pandits were killed accidently by islamic militants, why doesn't world ask explanation from these islamists for their crime in same manner how they are expecting from these police??

by shailesh gupta on Sep 05, 2010 06:47 PM  | Hide replies

all such fake news r spread by media blaming police n security for the faults of the evil public. the stone pelters n their inciting leaders keep creating violence n people r killed. its time to pick out all rioting rogues n put them in andman nikobar or drown them in bay of bengal. Congress is helping these terrorists. these people cannot be allowed to ask anything they want, govt must take action now. but these petticoat people r scared of the world n hav no guts to contain the internal enemies. Its time Indian youth reached Kashmir n took it back n kicked Cong out.

Omanchandy, your Dar Ul Islam agenda is in big big trouble. Even Muslims are seeing through the trick. India cannot be broken up anymore. Pakistan will breakup before India does. Your Muslim brothers in Pakistan made a complete mess of Pakistan in less than 65 years. Islam as a governance model has FAILED in Sudan, Saudi, Somalia, Syria, and all the other Islamic heavens.

The boy died on the street. father admits that he was hit by a tear gas shell in close distance. That means this boy is within the group of stone throwers that were tear gassed by police. How the father says his boy did everything right!! Allah! alone knows ?
