It is not just securing minority votes. No one in India whether majority or minority cares about the country enough to do something about the attacking foreigners.
Indians only like to find excuses for not fighting the actual external enemies.
Talk of minority votes etc. is just one more excuse not to go and fight the enemy inside their own homes.
The enemy citizens are more loyal to their own country and its philosophy of always attacking India, and they have always been coming to attack India, but its not the other way round.

Chinese have the capability to saturation nuclear bomb India, which might reduce the healthy Indian human population below twenty millions, which would be too less to defend India against even Pakistan.
India needs a population of at least forty million to fight off Pakistani attacks, because even under extreme conditions not more than twenty five percent of a population can join the armed forces.
India cannot afford to fight China, which implies it cannot afford to fight Pakistan, which is China and USA's joint satellite.
The current Indian Govt. policy of avoiding fighting at all costs, even with the enemy freely coming to attack Indians inside India, is the only available option inless the nature of Indians changes into something like the Pakistanis, willing to be on the offensive with no inhibitions or compunctions, whatsoever.
The fools on the below comment dosn't understand the the message on this news.America wants all the countries in the world to shed their all lethal weapons but they will keep all. they declared liquidation of nuclear arsonel but it is only to eliminate the old one and to stock with new and more adcanced nuclear weapons. On the one side they give huge arms to pakistan and on the other side they prompt israel to sell arms to India. they know India will be a super power in a couple of years. it is to halt this Indias great development all kinds of terrorisms are coming up in India. if america is 100% free from terror activities why they didnot hand over leshker terrorist david colman headley to India???

though india has Nukes but doesnt have security. Any terrorist can come to this country in a boat and kill 200 people. And we dont have specai force in all City NSG commando takes 14 hrs to get to the place. Now what to do with nukes.

Yeah, what could be wiser than giving nukes to a country, that in the year 2010 re - cycles their women, by accusing them of adultery and stoning them to death.
How can they assume estimates about Indian or Chinese arsenals is correct? I read an article India may have well over a 1000 nuclear warheads, making it the third biggest nuclear arsenal in the world. That article was written by group of Nobel prize winning scientists. We know India and China are countries of mass production, so I refuse to believe the estimates placing Indian and Chinese arsenals below those for British or French. These estimates are politically motivated to spread disinformation and paint wrong images,

It might be right. You need time and chain of reactors to do so. Once you sit on a good stock, it becomes possible to develop new fissile material in more and more quantity. It is like a race where you gain stamina instead of losing with time. We've been running for last 20 years while they've been running for more than 70 years. This gap of 50 yrs is very crucial and important.
US is the boss and only boss has the power to go against his own word. So what they decided to lessen their nukes but its them to decide since they said it. Even if all the countries bark or whisper nobody can go against it.
