If Congress had held on to Tharoor they would feel constrained in going after Modi, because every time they try to pin him down, he (Modi) would point at Tharoor and embarrass the government.

By letting go of Tharoor, the government can hunt down Modi and put him in his place. Modi's days are now numbered.

God, save IPL!

we are not sad that we have no better leader. We have number of great leaders like A,K Antony. I am not convinced Mr.Tharoor's explanation. I would like to see Mr.Modi also treated the same way.

Pulse of the people
by unni nair on Apr 19, 2010 12:41 PM

Indians like Rajiv Gandhi. Because he was young on the scene. He had the family connection and a western connection through Sonia which covers his lack of high education.

Shashi Taroor is liked because he is young, articulate, Westernised and can easily relate with the elite through twitting.

But the fact is both of them have proved to be quit naive in their own way in reading the pulse of the people.

It is here the likes of Mayawathis and Lalus score over them.
