The misuse of SC/St is really a matter of concern ,no doubt.But one should see the other side of it,Which shows that Sc/St are now in a posision to pay back others in the same coin.I am sure they are achieving equlity psycologically and can face the challenges of society on their own and there won't be any need of the act to protect them.
Thank God, we still have unbiased persons even in Judiciary. This is a rare case where the Judge has been able to sense the injustice being meted out to the landlord and his family. It is unfortunate, though, that people who file frivolous cases such as this and harass others, go scot free merely because of their caste. As they say, some people are more equal than others - SC/STs in this case.
the judge is sick and has a castiest mind. she has no idea that caste and feelings of high and low are in the blood of hindus. how many prosecutions under this act have taken place that this judge is talking about misuse? Is there any data that this judge is talking about misuse and says that it is growing? the best place to find data on crime against these people is the national crime records bureau website. in many cases the reports are not filed because it is assumed that the case will not survive because of corruption prevalent in the society right from executive to judiciary. the caste and believing in caste itself is a crime against humanity. if a law is made against caste then whole of the india will be a prison.
Idiotic Indian Judiciary is making bread and butter by false cases exploiting the provisions with good intentions. Is rotten indian jurists and police exploiting only SC/ST attrocities act?.
Aren't they exploiting openly 498a family cases with cases filed on anyone?. Aren't they exploiting DVC act which is neither CIVIL nor CRIMINAL?. How about exploitations with Hindu and Minorities acts?.
Idiotic indian jurists and judges usually are aware of only Hindu Acts, Minorities Acts, SC/ST attrocities act with one or two IPC sections.
Instead of crying foul on SC/ST attrocities act, government should enact laws to punish judges and police for falsely implicating the citizens without due verification to an extent of NARCO analysis tests. GOvernment should also enact laws to punish judges for deliberate delay of cases to feed judges, PP, HSO, IO, advocates and section departments including wrong judgements and non-performance of judges.

Goud garu, i suggest you read the article again. the crux of it is that the instances of this particular law being misused is rising, which means the instances of this misuse are more than that for other laws.

Finally one court has agreed that the SC/St attocities act is misused.The judge must be a brave person.The govt should repeal this act.
To do away with this curse called reservations, all the FC's should convert to lower 'castes' or sc/st and enjoy the benefits. this is the only way the country will have 100% sc/st and 100% reservations.
If indian government can tell them that they SC/ST then why not citizens? They are clearly writing and getting certificates that they are backward then whats wrong in calling them backward?

Yes, I agree to this observation. When they are ready to seek all the benefits by being called SC/ST, then why raise hue and cry when being called so
One of my school mate was a Brahmin. Due to his father's political power, they got a certificate of SC/ST and now he a doctor. Jai Hind. Jai Maharashtra.

that is what exactly i plan to do for my son/daughter. ask an sc/st friend of mine to adopt them and obtain a certificate. ;-)

coz merit could not get me a coveted govt job. nor seat in a govt engineering college where the fee structure is much lower.
