Vinod Kambli is a classical example of how a hugely talented cricketer may be lost due to lack of seriousness and sincerity. I still recall his great knocks of double hundreds! Moreover, most of us would recall his gritty fight (along with Sachin) against Pakistan in the 1992 World Cup.
However, it's a pity that he never took the game seriously. Or else, Vinod Kambli, and not Sourav Ganguly, could have been recognised as the best left-hander of India!
Let's hope he takes his political career seriously!
"I started my first inning as a cricketer from the train so wanted to start my second inning from the there (train)," - But his cricketing career was an utter flop, wasn't it?
"Don't vote for me on the basis that I am a cricketer", he knows that if they vote him as a cricketer then he will not get votes at all.
There is nothing wrong if he contests- rather, he should win and show the country that discipline learned as a criketer and collective functioning can bring success to the voters.
