if only we had retained our best brains
by Nandakumar Chandran on Sep 22, 2009 04:22 PM  | Hide replies

we would have been more self-reliant. sadly we lose our best brains to reservation and the lure of the lucre abroad. and we pay for it by spending billions on such stuff which we could have developed by ourselves. govt should come up with ways to retain the talent with the country and prevent braindrain. two things : handsome remunaration and a professional work enviornment where work/goals are more important than personalities or control.

Or more simply the government should just do what other governments like the US have done and get government out of the business of industry. Private enterprise and individual innovation is what has made the US the leading economy in the world. India continues to follow the flawed Nehruvian socialist model. Even now many private indian companies are world leaders while public enterprises are dragging the economy down.
And reservations, of course, is a huge burden. But India can grow despite that burden if the economy continues to expand at a fast rate.

Tejas LCA deserves mass profuction
by Jaganath Bharat on Sep 22, 2009 04:13 AM

This wonderful little fighter must be mass produced at very rapidy and proficiently. India needs to develop more powerful engine and 5th Gen. Fighter (FGFA). It doesn't have to be entirely indigenous, as long as their is at least some indigenous tech to fall back on.

Good Encouragement

Tejas LCA programme needs a support and confidence of the IAF And NAvy, the primary users of the aircraft, this additional requierment of the basic version of the aircraft will definately give more job to the HAL development team after the IAF has already paid for 40 LCA Tejas.

The Power in the preasent version of the Tejas is as per the requierment of the IAF placed earlier, but now with changing technology and the requiermentIAF has revised requierment for the LCA engine with 90-95 kN and for that the eavluation processis on for 3 types of engine, and new LCA MkII will be ready by 2011-12 as schedule expected by ADA DRDO and HAL.

This is ecellent news now the production team has to meet the deadline given to Navy.

Great achivement
by Varun on Sep 21, 2009 02:29 PM

It is a great achievement. Something people who depend of junk writers from MSM for information, cant digest for some wierd reason. ANyways i hope the scientists and knowledgeable people ignore the morons and continue further development of newer platforms or spinoffs.
