Fires in Historic Building
by Pratik Bhattacharya on Nov 17, 2009 10:07 PM

Fire can have serious effect on Historic building, especially when the buildings are very old. As a matter of fact fire is one of the biggest threats to the structure and the contents of historic buildings because historic contents once lost due to fire can never be recovered again.
A building like Andhra Pradesh High Court which has a very high historic value is also one of the most important places in to maintain the law and order of the state which contains significant amount of government official documents and at the same time large number of people are present inside the building (during working hours).
It is my understanding that these types of buildings needs special consideration to prevent any fatal fire, keeping in mind that arson could be one of the major causes of fire.

The fire was there probably to erase some evidence
by Sanjay on Sep 10, 2009 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

This fire is a common practice among babus and other class to destroy relevant documents of court or bureaucracy. It happens many times important documents are lost to benefit of scheming people for the benefit of their schemes.

Further the demand for new building is improper and should not be entertained as the need is for judges and quick execution of cases.
