Congratulations... This is the first time I ever heard a Tamil interospect so well. I salute you for being & belonging to all right thinking people. With frustration I have quit organisations. Often times, when one does not have a godfather at work, there are no raises, no promotions, no career path/plan.

In B'luru, at organisations such as HAL, ITI from security to scientists speaking around in Tamil makes you wonder if you stand a chance to break the ice.
The CEOs, Gen managers & some engineers of the big IT giants switch to Tamil/Hindi during Tech-Talks which would leave people like me guessing & left out.
Can we stop asking, "We have a job opening. Do you have tamilian in mind?". Instead ask, "Is there a good, efficient candidate?"

We should refrain from animal behavior of, "I will mark my area of working & nobody intrudes. I will make VPNs of my language etc."

People... Open up to others... Please... thanks...

I acknowledge this fact as a bengali, this tradition in Indian Govt. organization has made these hi-tech places a circus camp with thousands of jokers are spoiling tax payers' money and their invention never used in national interest. Army/Navy/Air Force never accept HAL/DRDO/Govt. Lab products to use in combat.

I dont know why tamils are being singled out ? I work in an organization which has a lot of Tamils and I dont see any of these signs. I have also heard people crib about bengalis speaking on bengali and clannish mentality of punjabis! cmon guys ...we all have tendency to speak our own language ( mine being hindi) but that dosent mean that we are all clannish and narrow minded!

You kind of answered your question. 'Lot of Tamils' - Does that strike something?

I have seen lot of companies circulate policies, training courses regarding respectful behavior which includes NOT speaking in foreign languages in groups where people dont understand your language. I dont know much about Punjabis.
I have seen Bengalis, Tamils, Mallus go to their home campuses OR to their contacts to recruit their own kind. This is no stray case.
I dont discount the fact that these issues might have diluted a lot because of existence of multinational companies & better transparency.

The Indian defence organisations...
by Prasanna Thyamagondlu on Sep 09, 2009 12:45 AM

Give some clay to a kid & request a aeroplane made of it. The kid completes it with a lump over another. When you ask, "whats that", the kid says, thats a snowman. Does that strike a bell?

Yup... HAL, NA(L), DRDO, ADA, ADE, GTRE, BEL, ITI... What have you accomplished? Your work is what is supposed to defend the country. It is not a auto body shop OR a auto repair garage shop. India has lost its land to Pakistan & China. You know we cannot depend on Russian MIGs to win the wars. Buying Gadgets from US / Europe & assembling them after removing logos may not be all that you have to do. You may need engineers that dont come from Res / Q'ta. You should not entirely depend on supply / work contractors to complete projects. This is not PWD.
We can destroy great plans, projects by incorrect execution. We can also create great foundation for future by good execution of ordinary plans.

Can we expect greater accountability in our defence development related engineering organisations?
