Superpowering India authored by Air Marshal A K Mukhopadhyaya

Sir,
As usual, your correspondent missed the trees in the woods. Vajpayee was the third in a quartet of four Prime Ministers who were sttridently criticised for doing maximum harm to India. Incidently, the incumbent serving PM now arttracted the maximum criticism, as time has not been able to obscure his misdeeds. Your correspondent could at least read the press release, as he cannot be expected to read and understand any book trying to enhance national cause and purpose. Regards AKM

Surprising
by Mr Walker on Oct 31, 2009 11:32 AM

I am surprised that an ex air force person writes this ??
Armed forces have their own problems which are pretty serious and its not right to blame Vajpayee when others have committed far serious crimes.
Without reading this book we cannot make out whats written and the truth, news media has a inclination to use slightest negativity against BJP and magnify it and publish it.

and vajpayee, though a very tall leader by his own own achievement on many fields, was not successful on every aspect.

what is harm in accepting there was failure of vajpayee too?

When India was burning. MMJoshi is aspiring to lead BJP; has he cut-off his ticket? Good for him, as it is, he has been a failure.

shocking!!
by Zaki on Oct 31, 2009 01:15 AM  | Hide replies

"There were maximum massacres of Hindus in J&K, LoC and in international borders during his tenures. He nonchalantly watched or composed poems when majority of Hindus were driven out of Kashmir [ Images ] valley by the resident Muslims in connivance with the infiltrators from Pakistan and PoK."

If a (retd)Air Marshal sees things from this angle, and I presume his entire book is written with a saffron tint, since it is being endorsed by RSS, then its quite revelatory about the mindset of the Indian armed forces. So col. Purohit was not an exception after all with such partisan allegiances.

Silly me and I thought the army was above the religious divide. And since we are talking of atrocities that Vajpayee could'nt prevent, so has the former air marshel mentioned the state sponsored massacre committed by one of Vajpayee's own partyman: CM - Gujarat,in his book.

Afterall it is atrocites are still atrocites even when commited and assisted by the state apparatus!

Why should you fear about the angle if it reveals the truth !

You want him to behave like a pseudosecular and hide the truth.

This is the truth whether you like it or not. And the army is there to protect citizens of India. So if the truth is mentioned you should not feel bad about it.

Anyway without reading the book we cannot comment on the contents based on this news report.

You mean the Army should protect the those citizens of India who openly want secession and act as agents of a neibouring enemy country, drive away the minority people of that State in lakhs. Is it not true that the Indian Army which is there to protect the citizens are viewed as enemy by the majority community in Kashmir?
