THis is pure mistake part on the part of authorities. No life jacket, No swimmers, in case of emergency. Driver would be knowing swimming. If he calls in his cell phone ten rescures would have come. It should have taken atleast 20 minutes from the time boat capsized and the time all are dead. There would be shouting. People coming in the next boat would have witnessed. Authorities came only after 1 hour. Dismiss all responsible officials.
Of course, the driver is to be blamed! He and his mate are the last in the link and not worthy to be protected. High ups can wash their ands by saying it was his inexperience, sharp turning , wind etc. My feeling is that there is a design fault and some one got the kick back to buy such unstable boats. How can such a narrow boat have an upper deck? Where would be the centre of gravity of this boat if every one go to upper deck and stand on one side? A lot more care should have been exercised at the time of purchasing such boats about the safety features and expect all worst scenario. Obviously that is not done. KTDC must answer , not the driver nor his mate. How sharp can you turn this boat? This is ot a speed boat!

kerala also stands for the most literate, most health conscious, least infant mortality, one of the highest life expectency, great communal harmony, highest daily wages to workers and you find a keralite in any corner of the world.
The major tourist attraction in rajahmundry is the ferry riding towards papikonda hills, but shockingly most of the boats do not meet basic precautions.Once I was in a boat which lost its route.while it was dark in the evening..the steerman came to the bank by guess work at the cost of losing time and people fears, the boat's headlight was not functioning, with godavari river at its peak
