It is anguishing and painful to see the status of Tamils in their own motherland. I don't know what the Srilankan govt. is upto. It is high time India interferes and sets the things right for the Tamils. Why is Karuna not making much noise over the issue is another question.
In the same vein, nobody raised any concern for the status of Kashmiri Pandits who were driven out of their homes by the militants, watched silently by both Central and J&K govt. Our sickular media also ignores them.

very valid indeed sir.. its really pathetic to see the helpless suffering of innocents, totally ignored by the rest of the world..why is it that the whole world and India in particular are so eloquently silent on this burning issue...

Of all the years of pain and misery the srilankan people went through .. just because of the tamil terrorism ..It is only proper that the srilankan govt take its time to set things right .. if you are so concerned . why areent the srilankan tamils voicing there issues ..Setting a troubled region will take time .

Tamil Terrrism it was Sinhalese reacist and genocidal policies that brought all this calamity and is still continuing this calamity. The Nazis used to balme the Jews for their own plight and anti Tamils and teh Sri Lankan government is using the same policy to try to balme the Tamils for what had happened. You brought this upon you for fighting for your just rights in your own land. We Sinhalese had to be racist and genocidal on you people as we did not want to loose our unfair privileges. If you dont calmour for your jsut rights and meekly accept yor third rate status and our systamatic colonisation and your ultimate total annihilation as a people, We SInhalese wil lnot harm you. From 1949 to 1977 a number of Non-voilence movements by Tamils under the leadership of Mr. Selvanayagam was suppressed by the Srilankan Govt with force. At that point of time they did not fight for separate nation but for equal rights. Only after Black July riots in 1983 which claimed lives of more than 1000 innocent Tamils, terrorist organization started to gain popularity among Tamil youth's. Genesis of LTTE and similar other outfits can be primarily attributed to the gross injustice of the Srilankan Govt to Tamils and their "ONLY Sinhala" propaganda. In India equal rights to all citizens is guaranteed through constitution, and political parties are interested in providing more provisions for the minority people. Whereas in Srilanka the Govt systematically and steadily took measures to suppress minorities. For instance tamil students has to get more mark than Sinhala student to get a place in university. They were also denied opportunity in Govt jobs. Many basic rights were denied to Tamils. So as long as such social injustice exits, new terrorist organizations would come up with different strategies and would continue to exist without any end. Now both Tamils and Sinhalese are tired of war, all they want is a peaceful environment to live. After watch the recent video where srilankan forces were killing Tamil fighters after stripping them naked, i find that Prabhakaran did the right thing. People like the srilankan army or the islamic extremists understand the language of the gun only. We did a huge mistake by not supporting our natural friends i.e tamils in srilanka by unnecessarily sending in peace keeping force. atleast now we should put enough pressure on srilankan government to behave humanely...or else they are going to act like nazis.
It is not India alone but the whole International Community are backing Srilanka in their genocide of tamil civilians. Whoever visits Srilanka discuss about how far the genocide is going on. They encourage Srilanka to finish off the tamilians as early as possible. After the lakhs of deaths through bombings and starvation and when some few people are left then U.N. will step in maybe with some force and will discuss with Colombo what to announce and then will announce that Srilanka has done a tremendous job helping the displaced civilians. They will not tell anything about the war crimes. They will act as if the whole of srilanka belongs to srilanka Govt and the tamilians there are refugees. The history will be rewritten as such. And as we all know people are bound to forget all these barbarism of the International community comprising of India, U.S.A, U.K., France, Canada, Mexico who cry for halt of war and the open support given by Russia, China and Pakistan
