caste is bad. In India parents tries to protect the daughter by marryning her to a known family.
Parent should not worry too much about their daughters. All parents should allow her daughter to marry any caste, any religion, anybody. why bother to look for a good family in their own caste. Bengali should marry amahrashtrian. Punjabi should marry Tamils, etc even though she do not know the language. Slowly she will learn.
