INDIAN GOVT DYING FOR A BILL TO REGULARISE HOMOSEXUALIT
by Ramesh Anand on Jun 29, 2009 01:47 PM

THERE ARE SO MANY PROBLEMS NEEDING ATTENTION/SOLUTIONS.IS HOMOSEXUALITY REALLY THAT IMPORTANT THAT GOVT HAS STARTED THINKING OF REGULARISING IT.I KNOW HINDUISM,BUDDISIM,SIKHISM,JAINIST AND EVEN CHRISTIANITY.THEY DO NOT PERMIT OR ACCEPT THIS UN/ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR.I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT ISLAM.SOME MUSLIMS HOWEVER CAN THROW LIGHT ON THIS ISSUE.IF GOVT FEELS HOMOSEXUALITY IS OK I THINK THEN OTHER ABBERATIONS ARE ALSO OK.FOR INSTANCE FATHER RAPING OR HAVING SEX WITH CONSENT WITH THEIR DAUGHTERS ETC,OR SEX WITH ANIMAL WHICH AT PRESENT IS AN OFFENCE PUNISHABLE.REGULARISE THAT TOO. BUT AT THE MOMENT,AS THERE WAS HARDLY ANY NEED FOR SACHCHAR COMMITTEE,GOVT NEED NOT PAY SO MUCH OF ATTENTION ATLEAST TO HOMOSEXUALITY UNLESS OFCOURSE SOME OF THE MINISTERS ARE HOMOS.AT THE MOMENT ,THE URGENT PROBLEM INDIA IS FACING IS OVER POPULATION.

I am a Catholic christian, but the church does not "criminalise" homosexuality. That is the country's law and not the view of the church. Rather it clearly says, these sections of the society should be looked with compassion rather than seclusion. Church has not yet accepted homosexuality as acceptable way of sexual relationship, but it does not find anything wrong in two people of same sex living together. The message of Christ is that of peace, love, compassion and forgiveness and definitely not hatred. It's high time we stopped this outdated British Raj rule and not be counted among those Middle Eastern countries which still have barbaric views on homosexuality.
