Even today's statement can be exploited by crooked Pakistan
by Pradip Rabindranath on Jul 29, 2009 09:35 PM  | Hide replies

The PM seems naive.

He says the Paki territory should not be used for terrorism and it's activities. Well, they are almost 100% sure to use Bangladesh , UAE or even Afghanistan and it's citizens. Why they even have their men ready in Malapuram, Kerala.

On Balochistan - even if India does not meddle with Bslochistan, the Pakis will create trouble and blame/frame it in on India. The PM does not seem to realise this and he fell for Gilani's trap!

For all that long speech, the PM may be a gentleman; but the Pakis are base born crooks waiting to exploit even the slightest leeway.

As a citizen this statement still leaves a feel of danger lurking around and a sense of insecuirty ...

I think the best way of salvaging the situation is to tell the pakis we have to discard that ill-worded Joint Statement ...whatever the costs

Rgds.

Pradip

Well..I think the best way is to tell the pakis to go by our interpretation (detailed) now and not to hold/make their own...they can conveniently throw the Joint Statement into the bin. Its not binding and least on India.

I dont care if he meant what he spoke because it is not in our hands anyway. I really liked the way the speech is written...I always wonder why dont these IAS guys join the politics in large numbers?? May be they would be better than the present ones...Just a though, I could be wrong too.

Well...they r told what to write..n moreover, they dont need to be IAS to draft a speech for the PM. It can b anybody...PM's PA or someone..doesnt need to b frm da IAS cadre.
And yes, the written speaches r vetted n edited at the secretary/joint secretary/principal secretary level and later by the PM himself.

Actually, I want to know if rediff accepts artciles from the readers...I really think we can contribute to the site a lot better than the existing info. It neednot be policital only but are they not hundreds of topics left uncovered by rediff? We all readers should write adns end to rediff. I think at present rediff has only 'met a celebrity' kind of reader contributions???

MMS is just a puppet
by JGN on Jul 29, 2009 09:23 PM  | Hide replies

MMS is a stooge of the US and the World Bank. It was the late PVN Rao who was responsible for the "economic liberlization", albeit at the behest of the World Bank. Till then the Congis had only tried to scuttle the growth in our Country with theirLicence-Permit-Quota Raj.

MMS is just a puppet in the hands of Ms. Sonia Gandhi. He is the most servile person alive in the Country, who does not have any ambitions. That is the reason for making him the PM till pappu Rahul is mature enough to take over the mantle.

Pranab Mukherjee was the No.2 person even in the late Mrs. Indira Gandhi's ministry (and surprizingly enough he is the No.2 person in the Ministry). Why he was not made the PM??

Yes, I agree with you that the spineless Congis could not find just one Indian worth leading them from a billion-plus population. They had to cling to the apron strings of an Italian widow for their survival.

At the end of the day, MMS is more decent than most of the politicians. He is probably not as shrewd as others, but his decency and integrity are unquestionable. And he has to be given credit along with PV for the economic reforms.

No, he does not deservce any credit. On the other hand, he used to threaten PVN Rao every alternative day with "resignation". He continued only as per the advice of PVN Rao.

In fact we are making a virtue out of necessity by the so-called A"Aeconomic liberalization"!!
