I am a Maharashtrian by mother tongue as well as birth and I hate the Shiv Sena and the MNS and all their people. My wife is a school teacher and every year the Shiv Sena and the MNS goons force into her school for admissions and threaten the teachers and principal with dire consequences and no police is capable of taking the complaint. Money is their only objective, they don't work for the marathi speaking people, they work just for those who provide them money by way of hafta. I will prefer joining the Al Queda to takle this monsters.
Funny how cities change their culture. Delhi was once known for its adab just as much as Lucknow, but now it is known as a Punjabi city. I understand that the refugees from the western side during partition changed the entire idiom of the city just as post mandal politicians changed the everything about Lucknow. It was'nt always known for street fighter politicians like Mayawati, Mulayam and Rajnath Singh.
In all this debate about local culture I do agree with the assertion that local culture should be respected otherwise we might lose invaluable heritage. This is as much true of Lucknow as it is true of Mumbai etc.
In this 21st century India, it is a shame that an article which abuses the very notion of India could be written (and be praised by some!). It is people like this writer who will eventually destroy this country. Let alone the contradictions in this article.. what about the hypocrisy of it all?
The writer is apparently running some blog on 'samskriti'! (so the blurb says..). What an irony!
Who tolerates being overpowered by anybody else. If maharashtrians go out to other states and abuse their politicians, will you they tolerate? NO. If you are migrant, behave like one. Live peacefully and let us live peacefully. Dont show off. Think why are you here in Mumbai, bcoz ur bloody state cant provide you good employment. Jis thali mein khaya usi mein ched mat karo. However the thakreys are. May be they are doing it for Vote. But atleast they are thinking about Marathas here. Is any other party leader thinking so, like how Lalu and Nitish kumar keep thinking about their own state. So take a chill pill. Accept the fact. You are outsider, behave like one.
