"I THINK IF A MAN RUNS AWAY WITH POLICE PISTOL
Than he is no way 'innocent', police should have killed him or not killed him is another discussion. Many Indians are usually have 'rowdy' behavior, mostly youths from north tend to behave in uncivilized manner due to poor upbringing and the money, gun and power culture rampant in north."..people have been reacting abusly...

Let me put things in correct perespective.
Its very easy to blame police, do you know how hard it is for them to do the policing?

Given the type of people our country have, you tell me how many people will respond properly to polce if they talk "sir can i check this or that"..people of this country make them to start from "madarrchod.."..
nine guys out of every 10 in this country are currupt, uncivilized and have rowdy behaviour, so are the police.

It has job of police to keep their fear alive among uncivilized peopel else who would listen to them. If the whole coutry does better on these counts than police will do as well, as they are just one among them...think and than comment...although the death is tragic and sad..

Well said. But I have seen POlice misbehaving with innocent old villagers who are illiterate. I saw one guy beating up a old villager because he did not understand the sign and about to cross the road. When you see this your heart bleeds. I pity the policemen who have to deal with naxalites and Jihadis.

Basic character building is the solution, respect for rules and regulation, public discipline as a responsible citizen and respect for other people, be considerate and give other the space that they deserve is something that need to build in the entire nation, not in police alone. I think the govt should also spend some resources in improving civilization aspect among ints citizens and police are just one if its citizens. I think schools are the place to begin these changes. We should first learn npot spitting and peeing here and there, throwing garbage on the way once we are done with things, respecting people regardless of work they do or poor or rich they are, doing work only when someone is watching or sitting on our head etc.

Encounter
by arungopal agarwal on Jul 06, 2009 01:02 PM

In majority case, encounter mean either to kill a culprit in custody and showing encounter or killing on the spot on the basis of informer information. Sometimes, (very casually) innocent becomes victim. This is practical truth, except when encounter takes place with dacoits and terrorists.
Any thing is possible i.e. torturing, cold blood murder etc.,etc.,Our judiciary system does not provide justice in time, sometimes encounter becomes necessity for few.

Its just a repeat of the usual killing of innocent people, silencing of witness and rewarding police with medals for their service in helping to reduce the population of India

Such police actions
by Haramohan Roy on Jul 06, 2009 10:39 AM  | Hide replies

Such police actions (?) are a sure way to push the people towards taking their law in their own hand. A number of policemen in our country get delight in beating, insuting, abusing or even killing innocent people, and then they create imaginary charge against the victims!

If such policemen are not seriously identified and punished, India would never be able to get rid of terrorists and insurgents, because then there will be a tendency among the people to take law into their own hands.

So, such evil police personnel should immediately be punished.

Yes, the torture proves the brutality of police. Even if the ran with revolver, it was that torture that provoked him to do so.

All those guilty policemen should be hanged in public.

You are right. Moreover, it also raises doubts whether the young man really had a revolver with him!
