respected Obama, As you have been elected as the PRESIDENT of U.S.A it shows the anionting of JESUS upon you.It is a new sunshine upon the people of U.S.A.May GOD bless you and your family member to take the U.S.A to new direction and new height.
Those who are unnecessarily feeling proud of so called Indo-Americans appointed by Obama, should know that they are not Indians anymore. Their fore grandfathers have migrated to USA and settled around 100 years ago. And their decedents themselves never consider them as an Indian so why should we make ourselves fool by being happy and proud. Stop it!

Your attitude is an example of what ails India - we should continue to bond with these people because they are finally ours. People leave India for opportunities that present themselves elsewhere, that does not make them traitors.
Please check inside your heart to find out why you honestly feel the way you do

Ravi, please don't be so emotional. Think with brains..not heart, ok? If those people have some proud about their roots so let them express that. Why unnecessarily we make a sound man?

You are right ravi. It is obviously we have some bonding with such people who have gone sattled accepted the nation where they lived and finally being accpeted by the nation where they lived so long with honesty. Not like some people who live in india but ... you know... what it is...

Do all Indians care for India ? What short-sighted thinking !
It does help when someone who has links with your country is in the group of people who matter. With some key positions held by prople of Indian origin, it would certainly help in making America see India's position in better perspective. It will create valuable long term relationship, bonding, strategic partnership in various business & diplomatic areas.
It is not only a matter of pride for we Indians but it harbingers well for Ino-American relationship in coming years.

No harm taking pride, etc., but better to keep in mind that their achievement is American property, not Indian. It was not achieved in India and therefore will not directly benefit us.
However it does confirm that people's success depends on the environment too and there might not be any thing genetically wrong with Indians that makes us so backward in our own country.
Finally it contains the implied wish that some of it might rub off and improve things here.
Pride is o.k. as long as we don't go overboard and forget the homework we have to do here.
do not any body know that obama is a indian.his love for indian and his achievements in that regarding liquidation of terrorism from world is mind boggling.
Re: America should stop support Pakistan

America cannot afford to give up reliance on Pakistan, and it is in our interest too.
The politics of Pakistan is bad for us, but the location of their country is a great asset for anyone interested in the Gulf Oil Fields.
USA has to deal Pakistan in such a way that they can continue to be "friends" while changing their politics. It might require US military aggression against Pakistan, but preferably after dividing Pakistani opinion so that the successors in politics remain friendly with USA.

Yes you are right. Amercia should stop support to Pakistan and put pressure to remove terrorist camp from Pakistan which is harmful for India as well as the whole world in future
I am a Telugu pundit from Warangal. I have the ancient literature and manuscripts in palmleaf. I happaned to refer to it yesterday. Strangely I found the meaning for OBAMA which means Hope & Charity.

Thanks for sharing that. I think OBAMA will feel happy if he learns that.

No Mr. Anil Kumar you are wrong in judging people. Why people always make a language or region BASE to judge them. Please change your tendency if you are intellectual enough.

Indians should stop believing that miracles will help us overcome our problems, whether with Pakistan or wihtin India the various forms of backwardness and divisions of interest groups.
A stable though limited relationship with powerful countries like USA is better than a very strong but unstable one.
Ultimately we have to do our work on our own, others cannot do it for us.

Important thing is that in USA they can show change from Blacks prohibited from many areas and even Schools, to Blacks elected President.
A society must show the ability to change in important ways. Unfortunately many Indians are always busy trying to prevent social change. In effect Indian society would be a dead static one if these people had their way.
Secondly the change should be possible through normal means, not through great emergency or very special efforts.
In India there are many things that cannot be changed through any normal way because largely of the hold of such people.
We have to begin by valuing freedom of opinion and not trying to bully others into adopting our own views.
We also have to recognise that there are differences of interest, and it is not bad for people to work in their own interest. Every thing does not involve national interest all the time. Example: the Maharashtra versus Non Maharashtra issue was a genuine one, of local people wanting more employment in Govt. jobs at the lowest levels, but we have converted it into a big dispute bordering on fragmentation of the country.
Democracy becomes meaningless if every separate interest gets buried under the burden of so called national interest.

It is our reluctance to deal strongly with Pakistan that makes other countries hesitate in supporting us. No one likes to put their money in a loosing idea.
If we had shown strength in fighting over Kashmir then we might have got better support from USA and others.
As it is Pakistan appears to be the winning horse, so they all prefer to bet on it.
