This happens when you make a country of inferior people
by Superman on Feb 26, 2009 12:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In India, when army personnel have any issue with something non-technical like payhikes, they protest in a descent manner, most of the cases in Gandhian way. In Bangladesh/Pakistan and many other countries they go for a coup. In a country where people are uneducated, lack of inspiring leader and absolutely no heritage or history, people react like the way Bangladeshis did. Mostly peasant class who was ruled by the Hindu landowners and landless illiterate people made todays bangladesh. On the other hand, education except the Quranic one has always been on the backstage in a Muslim country. These people prefer to take a dagger instead of pen when they are confronted with an issue. Although, according to the Quran it should be the opposite," The ink of a scholar is holier than the holy blood of a martyr."
A country of inferior people is always troublesome to the rest of the humanity.

The liberation of Pakistan and Bangladesh in 1947 would have far reaching consequences than one can possibly imagine. A recent drive of Wahabi Islamisation in Bangladesh has made them more bloodthirsty.

Its not the Gandhian way the Indian military personnels are behaving, but as disciplined soldiers. Discipline is that matters in an organisation like army or paramilitary forces which is lacking in Bangladesh and Pakistan...

Your theory that somehow Bangladeshis are "inferior people"-whatever that means reeks of supremely egoistical and fanatical attitude.
To say the least such racist theories are quite dangerous and reflect a lack of wholesome education.
Mutinies have happened in Britain and France, and Germany too - the other self proclaimed "superior people".

The way forward is to shed such silly notions of imaginary superiority (which incidentally lie breed the perception of injustice at the root of such mayhems and coups) and work instead towards removing injustices which exist in our own country.

Cut out the holier than thou attitude guys. We have had our share of mutinies. Remember the Indian Army mutiny after the Golden Temple incident. There is a larger issue at hand out here. It is one that is prevalent in all armies born out of British Empire. Where the Army Officers were a privileged class which consisted of Lords and Earls and the common jawan was nothing more than a peasant who was more of use as cannon fodder to be sent to die for sake of achieving dubious battle objectives. Their living conditions were and still are extremely poor. It shows a complete disconnect between the officers and jawans. It is something that can happen over here too if we are not careful.

It was not a mutiny by the 'army' it was a revolt by the sikh regiment, and understandably enough as the golden temple is thier holiest shrine.

The mutiny by the Sikh soldiers in the Indian Army was not a result of the Operation Blue Star as such, but a result of the army's failure to explain the objectives of the operation to the Sikh soldiers, who interpreted it as an attack on their religion rather than on the terrorists...

People need to wake up now, all governments are corrupt. We need to be united irrespective of culture, race, religion but for humanity. These elites are not sitting for our welfare but for their own sake. In my opinion we need to come forward and look for each other. All my Hindu,Muslim,Christian, Sikh and other brothers just come forward united and take these corrupted ministers out of our lives.

Bangladeshis are human beings too, and hence they are our brothers. If you hate them, then why don't you think for a minute, what would you have done if you were born there. Being a hindu, you should think of that possibility. Slamming them is the easiest and most coward way to comment on this situation.

Yes. Hindus believe and/or know God is inseparable part of every being.

While we should and must(not like the MMS govt) strongly and bravely deal with any challenges, we should not hate any being for their race, religion, nationality etc.

Partition
by neelima neelima on Feb 25, 2009 09:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I know that people keep crying about partition without caring much to know about the circumstances, usually by picking up sentences from here and there, mostly from equally ignorant sources. Definitely it was dreadful to lose some parts of the country and more than that, to lose all those lives. But now with the advantage of looking back, I for one, feel very happy that partition happened. All these people put together would have formed a formidable number. Imagine having all those mad mullahs and bickering armies inside India! We are better off without them. There wouldn't have been any progress and we would have simply killed one another and lived in hatred. Funnily, people who cannot tolerate the current Indian Muslims are the loudest in crying about partition. I cannot fathom how they would have tolerated the entire Pakistani and Bangladesh Muslim population!!

You know you are right counting pakistan and bangladesh population we would have almost 40 percent muslim population in india and the country would have been devided and we would have been screwd even more. think about it. 245 million and another 180 million muslims part of inda we would have been ruled by the muslim prime minister and ofcouse they would have divided the hindu population and muslims would vote for them alone . so be thank full.

PARTION WAS NOT IMPLEMENTED WELL AS NEHRU WAS TOO EAGER TO SIT ON PM'S CHAIR. WHAT WAS THIS PARTION ABOUT GIVING A LAND TO CERTAIN GROUPS WHEN MOST OF ITS MEMBERS STILL LEFT IN INDIA. THE PARTION HALF THE LAND WAS GIVEN TO ONE GROUP AND REST TO EVERYONE INCLUDING THE GROUP THAT GOT SEPERATE LAND, WHAT WAS THE LOGIC OR JUSTICE BEHIND THIS. AND THE MANNER THEY EXECUTED IT, IT COSE LIVES OF MILLION PEOPLE OF ALL GROUPS.

I recently read a book "The men who killed Gandhi". It is about Godse and his friends who were plotting to kill Gandhi. When asked (in the court) as to why he was against Gandhi, Godse says that he was not against Gandhi personally (in fact he was a follower of Gandhi) but he was against the partition. When asked why he was against partition, he says that the partition cannot guarantee peace in India and the neighbour will be troubling us even after that.

I am not supporting Godse for killing Gandhi, but his argument about partition holds good till today!

Neelima, The issue with partition is it is incomplete. It is the majority hindus who lost in the partition. muslims got 2 muslim countries pakistan, bangladesh, they kicked out all hindus from there . But hindus did not get a hindu country. They got a secular country where minority is appeased at the expense of majority. The partition would have been a happy one of all the muslims were sent to Pakistan, Bangladesh. Muslims got land and country for them but hindus lost land and lost their own country hindustan also.some hindus are living like refugees in their own country.
