visa norms

in our country rules are made to either break or ostensibily help the miscreants. every minister, government officer in power feels they can make any rules and without going into deep abt the matter simply they make press announcement. matured (by sense) are required to rule us; old people like Krishna ji should sit and take rest; no doubt there are many ministers who are good for nothing.

Shameless fellow.

He should be left to do social networking full time. I feel, the ministry can do without him. As he was elected to Lok Sabha, he feels he has support at grassroot level. Success seems to have gone to his head. He said very proud things about his maiden electoral success in a Times of Interview. Some day he likes to flaunt his wealth, some other day, he likes to pass cheap comments on national policy matters.

i think there is nothing wrong for a minister to express his views in public (it is encouraged in more mature democracies in the west). it is unbelievable that krishna wants everything confined within 4 walls. which world are we indians living in by criticizing Tharoor for speaking publicly ? I guess a world where hitler is replaced by SONIA?

Pranav, he is part of the ministry. If at all he had some issues with the policy, he should first discuss with others in Parliament. Now, if Tharoor feels that this policy doesnt make sense, then he got himself to blame!!!

I am sure he must have expressed his view within "4 walls". but our old school congress leaders must not have heard. they just want to implement another law that will not help - just so that they could defend themselves from the opposition - that they indeed did something. I think it is time that we question these laws we have that never work.

This issue is similar to Jaswant Singh issue. It seems that congress and BJP are some military organizations as they seem to be enforcing decipline and hitting hard on anyone who has a different point of view and dares to express it.

Sorry Mr Pranav K, but no sensible person can agree with you. How do you think your home will be secure if a soldier on the boarder starts expressing his difference of opinion instead of following an order to shoot the enemy. Similarly govt minister from his ministry is a soldier on diplomatic borders of our country. This sort of behaviour can not be tolerated. One has to follow set methods of an organization to express difference of opinion. Its true for govt as well.
As for freedom of expression, he can have whole lot of it once he is out of the obligation of a minister. Why doesnt he resign and start keep posting his opinion everywhere just like any other news channel does today.

I am not sure if Sasi Tharoor thinks policy decisions are to be taken after public debates on twitter!

As far as my knowledge of parliamentary democracy goes, this is taken in debates and discussions in parliament and once taken, they have to stick by it and don't speak against it.

Tharoor has not shown the seriousness of a minister and gives the impression of whiling away his time by getting into silly controversies.

Or is it that his ego is not letting him enjoy his position of MoS and actually not going well with his senior colleague. I may be wrong, but that is what it looks like on surface!

He is not a government servant. (not a slave to obey madam & SM krishna).

He is elected by people to do and speak what is best for the country and its people. He has every right to voice his opinion.
