We have no ill will against Telangana brothers as we infact have ruled these fellows for 200 years. I am sure they will give us Hyderabad state and work for peace. Otherwise..............

Only legitimate demands will be fulfilled. In A.P, don't understand why sometime andhrites say "Jai Andhra" some times "United Andhra" etc... Seems to be very smart people no wonder why telangana people wants to far from them.

The unity amongst telangana people is only a facade. It is completely bogus. There is deep hatred amongst different castes in telangana.

Even the telugu spoken in different districts of telangana is not the same.

The kinds of tricks you are playing on Andhra people you will play against each other once separate telangana with warangal as capital is formed.

by pm on Dec 27, 2009 03:49 AM  | Hide replies

It is sad but true India has a great history of 5000 yrs, It was the epitome of civilization, art, culture, science and medicine. But one thing we have never learned in 5000yrs is how to live with peace and work towards the common good. We are always fighting among themselves. We have discovered so many ways to fight among ourselves. We fight over religions, we fight over castes, we fight over languages, we fight over what we eat, what we drink and we fight over thousand other things. This fight over Telangana is one more addition in that list. What were those greedy politicians were doing for the upliftment of the region before this. Did they ever fight for the electricity, for better roads, for education, for poor. It is the responsibility of the common man like you and me to tell our brothers that if there is any thing worth fighting for at this time it is for better roads, for better education, for better water and electricity supplies. If you have to fast, If you must do bandhs and strikes it must be for this reason not for Telangana by which you will be playing again into the hands of some other politicians. May we unite for the basic infrastructure , may we unite for education , May we unite for the common good for the common man of India. May we Unite for strong and united India.

If Telangana is not developed it should be Telangana leaders fault. They enjoy their political roles and don't care about their land. They are making a mess now a days to gain popularity and get better political roles. I am sure that there will not be ANY change even if there is Telangana. If they are really interested in developing Telangana, they should fight for better budget to Telangana and develop it with that Budget. Isn't it ?

Re: Telangana

Telangana was a state on its own before 1956. Nizam rulers treated their people very badly in telangana, now they see the andhra people treating them as 2nd class citizens.

Best example would be you rarely see a bride from andhra region and groom from telangana (except hyderabad) why???

If a married couple wants to be separated almost entire world would say that is not good be together and be happy but only the victim and the close associates of her/him would know the problems, for everybody else there would be lot of reasons to keep them together.

Some questioned all these desparities at the time of merger of andhra and telangana in 1956 but nehru told them that try for 10 years and if does not work then you are always get separated again.

SO people has to understand the background of this and should think open minded and everybody should understand that telangana is not going to be new country after all another state in the mighty India.

May be postitive side would be if the regional parties are not very strong (with too many MPs to blackmail) then the central government would be stable (remember that due to jayalaitha central has govt collapsed)

There was no state called telangana ever in the history! The kingdom of Muslim kings consisted of different linguistic regions including telugu, kannada, marathi etc. telangana was used to refer to telugu speaking areas in their kingdom.

But one thing for sure Andhra/Rayalaseema people should never have accepted telangana. Now this headache would not have happened.

Do Telangana leaders have a plan for development??
by Indian on Dec 26, 2009 06:40 PM  | Hide replies

Why do politicians not explaining how they are going to improve lives of people if telangana is given statehood?

Dear Telangana Friends,
Please ask following questions to your leaders. Please support telangana if you are satisfied with their vision. I wish you good luck whole heartedly for better jobs, development and administration. If not, please DON’T KEEP QUIET. Your leaders might screw up your future.

Agriculture:
1.      Its fact that telangana is depending on coastal districts and Krishna delta for surplus RICE. How does new govt give FOOD security to people going forward, if it is separated from Andhra? How far it can depend on centre?
2.      What’s are plans to improve agriculture given
-      Average rain fall in telangana is very less
-      Most of the land is dry/forests/not suitable for cultivation
-      Most of the land is at high altitude. Lift irrigation projects would be very expensive.
3.       What are plans to take up major irrigation projects (Sriram sagar would be completed any way)? How do you arrange finance for it, given state budget would be relatively lesser and there would be other priority areas also to invest in a new state?

Re: Do Telangana leaders have a plan for development??

Employment:
1. More than 95% of jobs are there in private sector and govt can’t hold reservations for the state anyway. How does creation of new state would improve job opportunities for telangana people?
2. India and its states are trying their best to attract investment. Why are you seeing investment from other Andhra regions as a treat/monopoly?
3. Hyderabad would definitely lose some investments to other cities (Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai etc) because of current political instability. It would definitely impacts telangana people. How do you handle it?
4. Film industry might slowly move to coastal districts as most of the current producers are from coastal Andhra. People already started constructing many film studios in vizag. How new govt will support people working in film industry.
Few IT/ITES companies might also try to transfer a part of their business to get tax benefits/human resources etc.

Re: Do Telangana leaders have a plan for development??

Industrialization:
1.      Its known fact that most industrialized regions in the world are coastal areas.
How can you establish manufacturing industries given telangana doesn’t have coast access?
2.      Central govt policy is to disinvest in existing govt companies itself even through they are in profits. How can you bring new govt industries into telangana?
3.      Can telangana compete with other states which are coastal/mineral rich/industrialized (e.g Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat) and attract private investment (non-services sector)?
4.      Telangana is blessed with huge coal reserves. What’s the plan to utilize it properly?
Please note that India is investing heavily on nuclear energy and dependency on coal would be relatively lesser by 2020. It means, telangana can’t make much money by selling coal etc.
5.      Coastal states might impose heavy duty/fee for using their ports for export/import which would increase prices of food and other goods. How do you handle it?
6.      India has gas reserves in Bombay-high, Gujarat coast and KG basin only.
How do you negotiate with respective state govt’s and central govt to get some share?

Re: Re: Do Telangana leaders have a plan for development??

Central Funds:
1.      Many under developed regions in India are also looking for central govt funds. What is the plan, if central govt gives nominal funds (states normal share) only?
2.      If Hyderabad is made capital of Telangana, it is Andhra which needs to build new capital. So central funds will (have to) go to Andhra but not telangana.
So what additional funds you are getting by dividing state?
3.      If Hyderabad is made union territory, both Andhra and telangana have to build new capitals. Its means much of funds needs to be invested in infrastructure.
So what kind of development and welfare schemes can you take up?
4.      You are unable to get(you never asked) any development package for telangana when
-      There are 42 MP’s
-       KCR is a central minister
-      Telangana is a key election issue
How can you get funds with just 17 MP’s?

General:
1.      Govt of AP has brought huge amounts of loans and invested in development of Hyderabad, irrigation projects, infrastructure etc. Telangana would also get its share and would have enough debt burdens on your head. How do govt handle it?
2.      When many of Indian states have developed their infrastructure and trying to grab their share in FDI / private investments, we would be starting to build our capital itself. Do you think this is right time for TELANGANA?
3.       Telangana leaders had held CM post 4 times, PM post once and key ministries like home, revenue, IT, irrigation many times. KCR is also in power from last 15 years. They didn’t try to develop telangana at any time (blaming some one else to hide their mistakes). Now how a common telanganite can expect them to bring change in their life??
4.      Now importantly, Let them justify how a separate state would bring better development than being in united and bigger state?

My Dear Friend,

Thanks for hitting right on my nose with your question and make me realize what I am supposed to do. Now, I am trying to understand geography of AP, socio economic conditions, govt development plans etc.

For today, I am starting with Prakasam
Advantages:
Being a district of a big and developing state in AP
Access to coast
Vijayawada – Chennai highway goes through it.

Natural disadvantages:
- Lack of major rivers
- Less annul rain fall, and agriculture is highly monsoon dependent
- Frequent draught because of above reasons.

5. Encourage more commercial crops than food crops.
6. See whether any industries can be established based on gas from KG basin.
7. Concentrate on services sector as it is easier and cheaper to develop than industrial sector.
8. Support farmers by giving loans, subsidies, free power (govt is already doing it)
9. Ask NRI’s to invest where possible and try to get FDI to the region.

As I said earlier, govt is doing/planning most of them. We have limited funds and it may take some time to implement all plans but we would definitely do it.

From our end, we need to let govt concentrate on development by not creating unnecessary political issues.

Digging the grave for all Telugu people..
by Surya Prakash on Dec 26, 2009 02:22 PM  | Hide replies

KCR is digging the grave for all telugu people by instigating innocent people into violence. This idiot does not understand what is in store for the people in Telanagana region once a seperate Telangana is announced. The muslim people are carefully watching the match between Telangana & Andhra people. Once Telangana becomes a seperate state, then the muslims will demand for a seperate Hyderabad state (recollect the pre-independence days under Nizam rule). There will be blood bath again in Hyderabad and the so called telangana people will be kicked out of Hyderabad and have to go for a seperate capital. The muslims will seize Hyderabad and this place will no more be a home to all religions. The bankrupt, corrupt minds of the political leaders are unable to see the future and are fighting tooth & nail for Telangana which will spell doom for all Telugu people in Andhra Pradesh as a whole. A state which was on the path to progress will get in 4 pieces Hyderabad, Telangana, Coastal Andhra & Rayalaseema. The Ralayaseema peole will never accept Vijayawada or Vizag as capital & Coastal Andhra will never accept any place in Rayalaseema as capital. The educated people, students should be able to understand thet it is the in the best interest of all telugu people to have a Unified Andhra Pradesh. If the Politicians in Telangana are really bothered about the people & development, let them fight to get more projects, industries to this region so that telangana region can really develop

More than any telanganite, I am dying to see the emergence of Telangna state at the earliest. He has promised job for every house hold. Practically there are no jobs available in secreteriat, as only 4 jobs are required now for every 10 jobs available earlier. All the irrigation projects in telangana will come to grinding halt, as the tribunal has to award allocations afresh. farmers and students in T are not in a mood to wait, they demand immideate jobs and water, any delay will force them to take extream steps. Now he cannot complain about exploitation of Andhraites, He along with his son will run for the cover after being attacked by army of angry youth and farmers. God save KCR and his son

I will put one straight question to you. What loss are we going to occur if we accept the bifurcation of state. What muslims will do if Andhraites leave is KCR and co. Now the situation is unified state is next to impossible. Andhra politicians should ponder about backward areas in North coast, Palanadu and drought hit areas in Anantapur, and floride hit villages of Prakasham district instead of harping unity theme which is rejected by Telanganites. Kurnool is the best site for capital as it has vast streches of barren land to develop infrstructure. Lets divide and stay united.

The greatest loss which will occur is that of morality. If the telangana people become successfull in dividing the state this will give a message to other parts of the country that if you can disrupt the peace and burn property you bow the head of central government for any demand. Unjustified protests must be met with a brutual repression. People should not be carried away by the bribes of the political leaders and must respond in an educated way.
