What is Kangress upto?
by Stud on Sep 01, 2009 10:22 AM  | Hide replies

President Barrack Hussien Obama and Prime Minister Gordon Brown of the UK are on record urging their schools and universities to match our prowess in producing Engineers,Doctors etc etc.

Now, why should we tweak our system, when the world is awed by our prowess? I am against examinations in the Primary schools, but in High Schools examinations are a must, wonder what is Kangress upto?

Is this an attempt to rob India to this world renowned prowess?

How much did you get in English?

'awed by our prowess'

'rob India to this world 'renowned' prowess'.

If this the world reknowned prowess that you are talking about then, Indian education definitely needs significant and immediate assistance.

If some students opt to write the exam and some do not, then will any distinction be made between them by educational institutions?

reforming education or destroying competitiveness ?
by bhasker masna on Sep 01, 2009 08:44 AM  | Hide replies

let's cut to chase, what is the need to abolish exam system?mr sibal says it is more burden & tension to students and parents. If we cannot handle exam tension, then how the heck can a person handle real life complex issue he faces daily and deals with it. Exams are atleast straight forward, you read and throw up in the answer sheet.. simple as that! Now see in Andhra, many engg colleges opened and ruined the quality of output coming, everyone is a engineer.. but what is the use?.Improve quality of primary education, which is "fundamental" source of shaping a person as an individual and a citizen.Dont try to reform if you dont know what you're doing. This has disaster written all over it.. mark my words, education system is marked for collapse.I am good at maths, analytical ability because my teach whipped my ass and i had to write exams and get better marks.. now ask me i dont have to write exam.. trust me i wont be learning.but still expect govt to give me good job based on my caste or economic background at the cost of good hard working people. God give knowledge to Mr Sibal.I really admire Sibal sir for his arguments on tv on political.. but that doesn't mean he cannot make senseless decisions!

Agree! Time for Mr. Sibal to rethink. The whole idea of education is to make a student face life which is full of 'tension' and problems. By removing all obstacles we will end up with a bunch of useless youngsters who will be running to their Mamma everythime there is tension. Improve quality of education. We ave too many engineering 'graduates' who are mainly doing programmers job and getting measly salary. Why create such a system? IITs to keep spending tax payers money for misfits by recent orders! No where you can see such a system.

He will bring big figures and number and do nothing. New educational system was proposed in 1974. Does he know that? BJP formed a committee to implement that. Where that committee is now Mr Sibal?

Instead of playing cheap, he could have made the system more integerated and national.

We could see some national class X heros.

Now we will produce zeros.

Reality is stark. India is home to world's largest number of illiterate.

90% of our primary schools don;t have black boards, pucca house, safe drinking water, or even toilet for girls.

Read amartya Sen's trust pratichi's report. He is keeping mum though because he could smell Raul Baba as great leader when he met him once on oxford !!

This Sibal is neither an academician nor a technocrat. He is a lawyer and politician. Within 3 months of his coming, he has proposed to change the Indian educational system. Neither he has set up any committee of experts to recommend reforms. India's infra for education is abysmal. These policy changes are going to harm Indian's education system.

These are no substitute to bread and butter issues, basic education.

Kongress has failed in all these miserably, added 85,000,000 (85 million) to below poverty level durng its last 5 years rule.

Now when country facing sky rocketing price rise (Price Rise index manipulated now so it does not reflect price rise), lack of rain, soaring job loss, agri output stagnant..........what else Sibal can do than creating hype thanks to our media.

So what? Just a degree is not enough. what was his % age? 35% with 5 arrears does not help.

And it is not the govt.'s duty to provide employment. If you are good, and try to find a job, you will be hired.

Your argument is frivolous. It may not be the job of the Govt to provide employment. But, it speaks volumes about the governance when you see such cases. How is the Govt compensating the individual who has obviously worked so hard to achieve educations results? How come so many lesser educated people got themselves Govt jobs? Obviously, if the person were not be good, he would not have got the kind of qualifications that is stated here!!!

SIBAL'S CABAL !! CRUEL JOKE WHEN 90% PRIMARY SCHOOLS DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL BUILDING, BLACK BOARD, OR DRINKING WATER FACILITY!

The whole thing is a hype by Sibal and Co.

Congress rule for 55 years caused so much poverty and illiteracy.

It was BJP that started universal primary education and for that Prof Rajput got UNESCO award.

Congress for msulim vote stopped that award. But when it found nothing, they were forced to hand over the award.

Such are shameless congress creature!
