india has the largest thorium deposits. there is considerable agreement among nuke experts that tho is the best and most attractive way to go for future of green. tho creates no ficile materials for bomb making. its waste is not a threat. its nuke reaction does no meltdown. it can be operated at low scale. and on and on. given all that, it is amazing india has almost zero international co-operation on tho energy development. clearly, this is the biggest foreign policy issue, and congress fails again as usual to make it work as the top priority for india.

THorium is only a THeory. Even so, nobody wants to help India, because it would put India on top of the world, considering India is the leader in this field, and holds the world's biggest reserves of Thorium. And then to THorium still requires Uranium/Plutonium in the beginning at least. The good news is that India may already have a solution, it's only a matter of time that THorium reactors are a reality, with or without any co-operation.

This is not a theoritical concept, but an anachronism in today's world. The US company Thorium Power is the only company in the world with the technology for power generation from Thorium, and the world's largest known deposits are in India, a country with which nuclear trade was hitherto taboo. It depends on the Indian leaders to decide how to solve this anachronism, as soon as possible, to the utmost benefit of India
After the NSG waiver, anyone is legally allowed to do nuclear trade with India. Bbilateral nuclear agreements are only optional. It's no longer "illegal" to sell India reactors, etc. Having said that, you can't force anybody to sell to you, it is upto them. If Canada does not want to sell, fine, don't sell. No deal, no money, it's that simple.
