Angry McCain, cool Obama, and the rest, as they say, is history. The debate was good, but the comments that followed the debate were interesting. From CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and Fox News, each one had its own platform and analysis and various 'experts' giving their own opinions. One did not need to agree with their views, and at the end of the day, come November 4, the voters will vote, but the electoral college will decide who the President is going to be. Reading through some of the comments, the question about a debate between, UPA and NDA, would suggest as to the candidates that will stand against each other. Will Sonia Gandhi beat Lal K. Advani, or it would be Dr. Manmohan Singh to bail her out? Or, let us say a debate between Rajnath Singh BJP President and Sonia Gandhi as the Congress party President, will probably be at equal footing. However, if the third front is also on the picture, how Mayawati will perform, with her screeching decibles. Or Lalu Yadav vs Bal Thakaray as supporters of UPA and NDA, respectively. Well!

No More Republican President
by Sonam Agrawal on Oct 16, 2008 02:29 PM

Sentator John McCain came all armoured with cutlery to cut up Barack Obama to pieces. He did succeed partially, that is during the first half hour but not proceed much further as soon as he encountered the solid core of his opponent. A large thud was heard when he said - " I am not George Bush"- now, what can be more despaerate than that. That's the thing he was trying to say all along and finally he let it out, when he realized that this was his best chance yet to disentangle himself from the failed administration. This actually exposed the fact that if this economic crisis has been the worst ever, then the outgoing administration has been the worst ever; and you surely want more of that, which makes you vary of another republican rule.
McCain as much as he tried could not shake up the core of Obama - a rustproof, hard glistening steel core. Obama was solid as ever and kept stressing on his core focus about healthcare, education and other forms of social spending. One very important point to notice is while McCain compared Obama's spending to Bush's spending binge, he forgot one very important point that Bush spent money on war and actually cut down spending on social sectors, which Obama proposes to rectify. Besides, McCain seemed to concerned with cutting up Obama rather than focus on his own proposals.Besides, a real leader is one who is ready to say to his people the right thing, rather than what is just popular (e.g Obama stressing about living within one's means.

Presidential Debate
by mohammed yaqoot on Oct 16, 2008 02:07 PM

We must learn from US the way they choose their leaders. How many of our leaders can debate on all the basic issues like McCain and Obama did. And more importantly, how many can maintain the decency which political debates require. We must appreciate the anchor also that he allowed the debate to reach conclusion and clarity. In the debates conducted by TV channels in India, the debate ends up where it started. The only gainers are channels who show as many advertisement as possible. America is gr8 and way ahead of us bcoz the people there are politically conscious and they select their leaders on good issues. We need to understand and follow it.

I am shocked and surprised that the author has tried his best to fool the readers...In an unbiased perspective, obama was thrashed by Senator McCain....

The liberal media including CNN, MSNBC; inclusive of biased idiots like Rachel maedow, Mr. Wolf and many others again play the dirty again of projecting the "Untruth".

BARACK OBAMA is the weakest candidate ever on American Soil...A man with zero experience...

by Muralidharan Raju on Oct 16, 2008 11:09 AM  | Hide replies

Whether it is Obama or John McCain, the country needs an efficient President to set right their troubled economy. Americal economy is the pulse of many nationas and its negative n positive status has cascading effect on economies of many other countries including India. Americans must resist any policies which weaken their economy and impact the social standing of hundres of thousands of people living over there.
