it seems from some messages on the discussion board that vijay Tendulkar is still alive! controversies and criticisms surrounded him during his lifetime because he dared to speak out the truth of life. truth is always hard to receive. perhaps that is why even after his death, instead of paying condolence to the renowned author who transcended Indian theatre to a global platform, for some he still remains a useless regional personality and an obssession. it is high time we know the man from his works and follow his path to understand human mind and create a better world.philosophers like him are the gift of God to mankind.
Vijay Tendulkar put real face and problem of womans & lower / poor class. It means he try to give justice to womans & lower / poor class people via his Scripts & drama. His contribution is important like Dr. Ambedkar & mahatma phule.
It true Vijay Tendulkar could read the human mind. Vijay Tendulkar all time best writer of the India. he give new dimension to playwriting & drama. I don't think such writer will born in Indian next 100 years.
Rediffmail seems to be obsessed with VT because he said he wanted to shoot Narendra Modi. It only shows magnanimity of Narendra Modi. It is the fault of Sheela bhatt who is one of the editors at Rediff... Being bored for not able to participate in Karnataka Election after getting major beating in Gujarat Election, she thought why not stay in limelite by publicizing useless regional personality whose braying doesn't even reach Gujarat, a part of Maratha empire at one time... that is the 3rd day in row that we are hearing about useless VT from Useless people..
Sonia Gandhi is consistent (unlike Vajpayee) She doesn't make money on the side. (unlike bengaru laxman..remember him) She is secular not pseudo secular (unlike Advani). Now you are being pretty careful in writing, dregs. My problem is that most of the guys on this forum suffer from poor content and style. Atleast if the style was good, it would make things more palatable. I enjoy the writing of some India Today journalists who are of the BJP ideology. But when the content as well as style is sick...then it makes me really irritated.
Well, if they are not RSS wallahs (which I think would be better...atleast some daily morning discipline), they just represent the lowest common denominator of views. Since they paint everyone with the same brush..commies, sickular (sick!) terrorists, I like to do the same.
..and my english is pretty good, despite a typo, common.

As for Vijay Tendulkar, for whom the article was dedicated, I think I am a great admirer of his plays, screenplays, stories...I have seen many of the movies Dr. Jabbar Patel has mentioned... his Sinhasan in my opinion is arguably the best political movie to be made in India.
Yet as Dr.Patel said, late Tendulkar went to fanatical extremes like wanting to shoot Modi. I am surprised Tendulkar never raised his voice against terrorists and his heart never went to the Kashmiri Pandits. It is this typical mentality - treating every act unleashed against Hindus another event and taking an extreme stand if the minority community is involved - that makes me hate Tendulkar to the extreme....
