Ex officers are only loobying for more funds.
by om prakash pandey on May 12, 2008 01:40 PM  | Hide replies

The ranks of indian defence forces are equally or more corrupt and the retired officers have been lobbying for more fund allocation for defence establishment. Why not they have huge interest behind. The media hype of officer shortage or lack of interest among youth to join forces. The reason is not the low pay package as projected but the angrezi attitude of incompetent officers.Such officers demoralise the juniors for ego or corrupt practices. These officers have made haven for themselves exploiting establishment.I mean in the nation of over billion youth where only some get respectful employment, boys are not joining forces? This is a country where thousands of young talent risk to indulge in petty criminal activity for few hundred ruppees and why not they will serve the forces but the vacancies will be kept for Ex army man son or relative. The army man serving for generation is no service to nation but the corruption. Poor people of this country are exploited by politicians, burcrates, police judiciary and Army as well. Why only sainik school but all schools should be funded adequately. The municipal schools with virtually nothing have given great name but Sainik schools need specuial attention.Time to acknowledge the bluff game played by defence establishment and looting public money.Look to our generals they are like goats if any question asked over Chines incursions.

You are obviously a frustrated guy who has been rejected by the SSB. The armed forces are still the pride of the nation, notwithstanding the efforts of people like you who can do nothing but whine when you do not make the grade to join this great organization. Yes, it is true that the number of young people who want to join the armed forces is still very high, but are they of the right calibre? Compromising on the quality of the intake can only be done at the peril of the nation. Leading men into battle is not an easy job, and let me tell you, my friend, that the Indian Army prides itself on the fact that officers lead their men into battle, they do n ot hang around in the rear. Have you ever bothered to see what is the ratio of officers who have died or been seriously injured in battle? It is courage and patriotism that these officers possess, and not, as you say "Angrezi attitude of incompetent officers". You just do not know what you are talking about, so it would make more sense for you to carry out an introspection and see where you are lacking, rather than make stupid, baseless accusations against this fine institution. It is certainly better for the Armed Forces to have a shortage of officers than to compromise and enrol sub-standard people like you.

When you are not aware of the facts do not talk nonsense. Yes corruption is there, but who has caused it. People like you who evade taxes and make lot of money to show others the so called status.
You people start corruption then blame others.
People like you can't give a drop of blood to others they defence people give their life for others
really i feel pathetic that we have a fellow brother like you as an Indian, i will be not surprised if you turn out to be ISI agent who is trying to sabotage a good cause

Schools for the richer ones
by Aby Sam on May 12, 2008 01:26 PM

Lots of people are at pain due to little support from central/state governments. I was fortunate to study at one of the Sainik Schools for full scholarship. At present there are no full scholarship award for the lesser income group, which is letting this school become one which can be afforded by the richer class. (like any other International schools).
Govt. please take notice and act immediately to save the country from officer shortage. Need to provide for the education of the less fortunate ones who can't afford a good school education.

Direct entry To Army
by pramod singh on May 12, 2008 01:25 PM

Students from the sainik school should be directly enrolled for five years in the army & after five year their performance if not satisfactory should be asked to packup. This would help in overcoming the shortfall of the officers in the army.

Why not have quota in the army. 23% SC/ST and 27% backward. Let them contribute in the army also.

hi Biswajit,
simply do not type some crap.
why do you want to rope in the sc/st/backward quota into some unrelated mater?
you shouild understand that they be given direct entry because from the age of ten they are trained in the same lines as that of an NDA cadet.

your argument shows that you would be immature in your arguments against the reservation policy too. please at least here after think twice before commenting on the matters that are not known to you.
