Can this speaker analyze why his father, a top Hindu Mahasabha leader, named him after Somnath?
by Tathagata Mukherjee on May 02, 2008 11:42 PM

Will he analyze?

Guess, he now believe, Somnath should NOT have been restored :)-

Communism preaches self-hate to its Hindu Bengali class followers.

This is autocracy of congress to blame BJP all the time and put alligation. because most of the time indisciplined ppl are from congress, left and RJD. Even they are criminals. Why dont Mr. chatterji pass amendment which says MP gets disqualified if there is any criminal case against him.

Ban Somnath
by Saurav Basu on May 02, 2008 10:55 PM

Yeah, they are eloquently fighting price rise and trying to transform the country from Hindustan to Bandistan ; just as Kolkata is city of bandh and hartal in India....

These shameless double faced hypocritical Communist goons and their ardent votaries who are the real villains in the system

The communists are a part of the supporting UPA alliance, and it is they who deserved to be censured for not responding to the voice of the common man. It is their regressive policies of anti-liberalization, subsidy raj, license raj, quota raj, anti disinvestment drives, running sick PSUs through the tax paying public exchequer, nepotism and bureaucratic red tapism which is the root cause of the current dismal position of the country's economy.

I am proud of my MP
by ashwani on May 02, 2008 10:20 PM

I never voted for my MP Brajesh Patahak. However now when I read about how he protested against a liar fertiliser minister and he stopped minister from giving a false speach; I am proud of my MP. The speaker Somnath doesnt have a clue of how a normal person lives. In my area people are literally killing for one sack of fertiliser. The other day I saw one guy was carrying a sack of fertiliser and other providing a gun security for just one sack of fertiliser.
Our not so bright Minister was giving a false speach in parliament claiming that everything is alright. My MP prevented him from speaking a lie. In fact it is minister who should be prosecuted.
Mr Pathak if you come to read this article, people in your constituency are proud of you because you dared to put our cause.

Why communists and AIADMK MPs have been missed out
by Kamal on May 02, 2008 10:15 PM  | Hide replies

'cos Somnath Chatterjee was elected in Communist ticket and he belongs to Communist party. AIADMK is left out as Congress might wanted to keep the options open.

fair deal
by Anantha PS on May 02, 2008 10:05 PM

What is the composition of the privilege committee? Is this privelge commmitte made up of the ruling party or a mixture of the elected rep? What i suggest is that they should be chosen from General public with adequate knowledge of Politics, selfless and with a sense of loyalty to the national cause. Then only they would take a un-baised decision
