Question PSI Nerlon Albuquerque
by Jason Cardozo on Mar 15, 2008 01:39 PM

Why is no one questioning PSI Nerlon Albuquerque the cop who initially tried to cover up the crime? Was it of his own or at the instance of some powerfull connections that the accused has?

Goa police - Scarlett rape-murder case
by desijohn on Mar 14, 2008 10:13 AM  | Hide replies

Why should the public believe Goa police now?

First they coerced the autopsy report from the forensic personnel. Then they denied rape/murder, and didn't want to register a complaint. Later they tried to shove the blame onto the victim and her mother.

Now the Goa police may have cut a deal with a fall guy, to confess, and take the fall for now. That way they put off the immediate pressure and heat that this case has gathered. Obviously the ghastly looking Kishen(IGP) doesn't want publicity for Goa police at this point, and wants to do anything to wrap up(no pun intended here) this case.

Look at the several posts here at rediff. There is hardly any Indian who sympathizes with the Indian police. Why? Because the police conduct themselves as such - corrupt, negligent, brash and trample over common people while groveling before their political masters and criminal bosses. Yes criminal bosses, because we don't know whom the police is working for. Its certainly not the common man. They get bribes and payouts from criminals and politicians. Its an open secret.

Indian police can frame practically anyone for anything, when they can't strike a deal.

I think Indian people should deal with police ruthlessly. Like the famous saying in Hindi "eent kaa jawaab pathar..." so also the public should teach these offending police personnel a fitting lesson for several years, and break their back. Dealing softly will get us no where. For every one negligent/corrupt police person, beat the

Just finishing the last sentence here.

For every one negligent/corrupt police action, beat the crap out of at least four policemen. Hit them to hurt, maim, lynch or perform an encounter. Thats the only way they understand. If things don't improve in two years, increase the dosage, and repeat for another two years.

Those of you who may think this is extreme, well what about the stuff Indian police is doing now? Is that extreme or do you expect us citizens to lie back and enjoy? Don't preach the law bull, since there is none in India. Its total anarchy out there, unless you are some armchair preacher without knowledge about reality.

What about the police..?
by Raja Subramanian on Mar 14, 2008 09:27 AM

What about the lies by the police themselves? They claim to have solved the case in such a triumphant manner, yet we should not forget they conveniently tried to close this case, and sweep things under the rug. Who will be responsible for that? They should investigate this immediately before this becomes a cold case scenario, and then hang all the guilty. The policemen who tried to foist the case are hand in glove with the culprits and they should therefore be held equally responsible for this reprehensible act..! Last but not the least, the girl's mom - who would be so stupid as to leave a 15-old girl by herself, that too with a man who was known for peddling drugs and so forth. Even in Western countries where there is more freedom, this is not permissible - had it happened in say, a county like US, she would get nothing less than 5-10 years in the slammer. Therefore, investigate the mom, investigate why was she hanging around in a place like Goa for so many months, and then do the needful! They do all these stupid things and then blame the country and people for their stupidity!

Goans have made enough money by exploiting the tourists. It's pay back time for them now. The criminals must be lashed in public, and the corrupt politicians and policemen should not be spared. Being citizens of a free nation doesn't mean it's a free for all. Let Goans stand up and prove that D'Souzas are not synonymous witj drugs, sex & booze. Otherwise, it will be the turn of their women next. So, beware!!

It is not just Goans. Entire deccan starting with Maharashtra is like this. Mumbai Bangalore rave parties are stuff of legends. Now God'd own country Kerala, with God's own massage parlors, is all set to go Goa way. Congratulations on such a nice lifestyle to the Southies, and I hope that we Northies never run into you.

Good that that finally a ghattee admitted the truth behind the ghattee culture of dance bars and perversion.
Indeed UP/Bihar are wholesome cultures, lands of milk and honey. I would rather be like that than follow the perverted ghattee/konkani culture.

Something wrong with the Deccan culture...
by no south on Mar 14, 2008 06:24 AM  | Hide replies

I have always believed that the culture of India nose-dives once the Deccan begins. Starting with the ghatteeland, this land becomes the land of maximum perversion, politico-police nexus, all sorts of corruption and what not. For example, a nice representative of the ghattee culture is Rakhi Sawant. Goans are Konkanis who are nothing but ghattees speaking Konkani language which almost like ghattee language. Rave parties are quite common in Mumbai and Bangalore, which young people in these lands attend quite frequently. They have no parental guidance because their parents are also products of such a culture. Cops are also into the Narco business in a big way. Ghattee kids do poorly in academics because of all these reasons, and when they can't get jobs, they start blaming the UP/Bihar people. Or they start this drug business, as is so common in Goa. So choice for us Northies is whether we should continue to associate with this rotten republic. I think we should use Thakre's call to evacuate all northies from Deccan and then liberate deccan. Let the ghattees self-destruct themselves by adopting this path of drugs, perversion and rock-n-roll.
