White Bread is made from Maida which provides absolutely no nutrition and instead harms the body. It is as good as the starch used for cotton clothes. Stay away from white bread or any maida product and opt for whole wheat bread, phulkas, rotis etc.

If you take your fibres, vitamins and minerals from milk products,fruits and vegetables, proteins from pulses and milk what is wrong in getting energy from maida breads which taste great? you can always add bran to the maida and make the dough
Is there any indication of how risky? Most of the generation who worked in Factories bin the last generation ate bread for breakfast at the company canteens and seems not afflicted with cancer and diabetes, except for the ones who had a genetic tendency. Those who did not take bread took rice based item, panta bhaat(rice), dosa, idli which are well known for starch. I am curious about knowing when the supposed risks materialize.

according to this study they have said that it leads to all such effects at an older age - not immediately. so, it is better to watch out.

they are using terror techniques knowing fully well that lots of people eat bread in morning. It says "powerful predictor of disease risk" without mentioning the co relation factor. Then it uses vague words like 'may' and says 'may lead to type 2 diabetes in older age' It says that due to increase in sugar from these foods (of course these foods are for energy why shouldnt it give sugar) more insulin is used(this also is common knowledge that is why we have insulin in the first place) Now I want to know do we humans eat so much bread that the variation in insulin is outside normal limits? I seriously doubt it because if you see the medical reports, there is no significant increase in either of the diseases in the last generation which lived off white bread and starch rich products. Thus I say this report is more sensational than factual. In these days of corporate sponsored reports, low ethics among researchers, manipulated statistics and rise of processed food industry I doubt most of these reports and raise questions. Science should not be giving vague reports. Words like may and chances should be accompanied by figures concluded in the report.

also, it may be applicable to certain geography, culture and other supported food habits. most of these studies are western notion and may not be applicable to us. similarly, indian diseases are unheard there.
The healthiest Breakfast that I have come across is boiled Black Gram garnished with lemon juice and Dhania leaves as eaten in Lucknow even idli and so many keralite dishes are healthy n postpones ur chances of having diabetes , bp , heart attacks etc
So many researches so many statements. Dont eat this, dont eat that. This is not good for this. That is not good for that. Got sick of hearing these. One thing for sure is all these are being faced by this generation only. The previous generations ate pesticide free and insecticide free food and they were all healthy, despite the fact that the medical facilities were lesser than the one available now. Let us all avoid eating pesticide and insecticide free food. 25 to 50% costly, but at our health's cost. Otherwise, living on this earth itself would be riskier.
hey guys dont follow any advicxe when it come eating... eat whatever u want but only home made foods.... in science todays correct theory can be proved wrong in future... first they told pouring water is good for burn victims.. later they argued water will make blisters and asked to roll the burning victims on sack..after sometime they claimed water is best treatment eventhough blisters appear , the burn intensity will be superficial and prevents deep burning... thats science .. so life is short.. and we indians have lot of mouth drooling ggrandma recepies.. simply eat themm... cappucino or any italian coffe will taste better to a westerner but when compared to our chichory coffee it nothing..pizzas r nothing bullshit when compared to our snacks n so all these kurkure, etc etc... still we prefer italy cofee pizzas n kurkure lays, bottled curd ,etc because we r pretending to show others that we r cosmopolitan guys...this applies to all receipies n in each n every case in life...

please, there is one thing I could not agree on, Chicory coffee tasting better. Pure filter coffee with lots of milk and sugar tastes better any time. But you are right, we shouldnt take these hap hazard studies too seriously. These studies are based on biased sampling and thus this kind of result. Also for these western studies, it doesnt imply latest is best report. Sometimes old reports stand. Also the western food and nutrition report may not always be applicable to Indian Population
