US Democratic nomination race
by Soumya Dutta on Mar 05, 2008 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

It is sometimes surprising how shallow and superficial voters can get - wherever in the world. Obama's mostly empty rhetoric - supported by a good oratory, is carrying many in the US democratic camp ! The till-now-best policy framework of John Edwards didn't mean much to them !
Hillary Clinton is at least much better in her policy understanding & projection, including imp. areas like Health cover for all.
And in passing, if the so-called wealthy Americans understand the critical importance of all-encompassing health assurance , when will the State machinery & the polity understand that it is far more important in the Indian context, with over 78 crore Indian's living on Rs.20 a day, and 12% of the poor selling assets like life-support land to pay for health care ??

I second your thoughts. India needs to implement such things for the betterment of poor Indians who have no resources for their health.

as always it is the fight of good over evil.finally it is good that triumphs, because god is essentially good.all troubles are our own creation, humans, i mean.

Hi, there's nothing good or bad. If u think god is infinite, wherefore the bad exists. so god is both good and bad accordingly and its a concept created by men, coz only men created god, god didn't.

There is nothing in this world which is 100% evil or 100% bad. Everything is equally good or bad. Donations cause corruption, too much of good life makes people dull, too much work causes friction between spouses, similarly diseases are a way to check population, death provides a means to come together, the earht discards nothing in the space everything is recycled, I mean there are so many examples. It is better to take things as they come. Read Gita rather than the Bible

The question here is : Is God evil or not?
We all agree God is all powerful. Now the point you made about disease a way of population check. If God is all powerful, why does he NOT ensure that disease happen to only evil people so that population is kept under check. Most of all why does he kill small innocent children and most noble and poor people in tsunamis when all the drug addict disco party people are enjoying and cursing him? The answer is this:
God is not merciful, mercy is a human emotion, God does not have emotions, God created emotions for humans, he is above emotions, he is objective, for God, maybe the life of a chicken is equally important as life of a man, so anyone who murders a human may be equal in God's eyes as anyone who eats chicken.

Remember all these religions are selfish in nature. They are made with man's selfish interests in mind for mass control and functioning of society . Any religion has nothing to do with the real nature of God. Read Spinoza's or Einstiens work of the search of God if you want to know the real objective nature of the creator. It will be a bit harsh and devoid of hope, but be a man to face the reality. God is both good and evil.

All these people talking about religion texts:

Can anyone answer me why God killed a 3 month old baby in earthquake, whose parents were true devotees and noble people? If God is all powerful, all merciful, why did he kill thousands of innocent children in tsunami? What karma was there for that innocent child?

God is everything, he is good he is evil too. Who created the devil? Did the devil exist for ever r alongside God? Does that mean Devil is equally powerful as God? No. There is nothing called devil, God designed this world in a perticular way. There is light because there is darkness, darkness defines light, if there was no darkness, you would not know what is light at all. Hot is defined by cold. Similarly both good and evil are required to exist for giving definition to each other. Both are created by God. Man likes to believe in a all-merciful all-good God, but that will never explain why so many innocent children die in earthquakes and car accidents and tsunamies every year.

God is only existing in the heart of the devotee. There is no god for the athist..The evil and good things are the result of karma. God can help you get rid of karma and attain mukti.

my perception is that god wants us to know the value of good.else would we remember him.evil is what we do wrong.this is in all the religious texts.he has given us a lot of freedom, because he loves us,but many times we misuse it, and the troubles we face are to remind us of our mistakes, and set us on the right path.

further all these unexplained phenomenons are god's(we don't know god's gender) way of reminding us of god's overall authority.but if we are good, we have less trouble.what do you say

Whoso ever wins US President post let him think about the sufferings of people in war be it Vietnam or in Iraq(most foolish action in world history and worst than Hitlers'invasion)and let him mind his own countrys' economy ....else US will beg china and Europe for food and jobs.God Save US from foolish politicians and contractors who benefitted from war or wish to bring more war.
