Bharat Ratna not fit for him
by shyamsunder kurudi on Apr 14, 2015 04:11 PM

He is more than Bharat Ratna itself.

Please lets not insult these great men, Bharat Ratna is no longer pious..even a cricketers (he earned left right center and asked for Taz concession for a car) actor and any one with recommendation gets it, we do not recognize them.

absolutely correct becouse we don't support and appreciate honest people, this is drwback for our country. the moment we won the war we could not decorate him with bharat ratna. the politicians who divided the country in the name of relegion and cast have awarded many laurels. what a great job this man has done for the country its uncomaparable atleast award him bharatratna posthomously.

Fild Marshal Manekshaw
by Umapathy Venkatesh on Jul 01, 2008 08:34 AM

The write up was really revealing. But then Talking about "Bharat Rathna" --- Please be reminded that a person so eminent as Sardar Patel was conferred the award only in the early nineties and moreover he had to share it with Rajiv Gandhi , a commercial pilot who went on to become PM mainly due to his lineage and a freak plane crash which killed his only other sibling. That is Bharat Mahan for you General !

Bharat Ratna for Sam Bahadur
by Mukul Vora on Jul 01, 2008 08:27 AM  | Hide replies

Looking at the list of people (at least some of them) who have been given this title, I am not sure if it is flattering for anyone worthy of being honoured in the true sense. Sam Bahadur is a 'Bharat Ratna' regardless of the title being bestowed on him.

You are absolutely right. Sardar Patel was given the award as late as the early nineties and to rub salt into the wound, he had to share it with Rajiv Gandhi

No, It Is NOT about SAM Manekshaw the GREATEST INDIAN MILITARY STRATEGIST of ALL TIMES
by Virendra Sharma on Jul 01, 2008 06:10 AM  | Hide replies

If the shame for not attending the State Funeral and not flying the national flag at half mast was not sufficient for the in-efficient beaurocracy and the inept politicians across the board, we now have a strange news that the FIVE STAR Genaral Officers are not part of of our warrant of precedence!!!!

God save India from such JOKERS.

How stupid the running of the govt can be, is stablished by this incident. Sam Maneshaw was made Field Marshall in 1973. Any one could know that FIVE is bigger than FOUR and also the retired officers are not allowed to display their star plates on the vehicles. Then why the beauracrats, including the successive Chiefs, have been sleeping over this issue? Last year only the govt of India paid the back wages of Rs.One Crore to the ailing Field marshall. This clearly shows that like the tradition is, that the Field Marshalls never retire. Then why this Rank is missing from the Warrant of

Cheers

Gen.Singh's views were eyeopening.Let us take the list of filthy dead politicians whose funerals were attended and their bunglows were given to their children as monuments, cremation ghats named(stupid names) as kisan ghat, samtha sthal,.They are Devi lal,Joker pm Chandrasekhar,Charan singh.Sam would not get a mention as he was getting more popular than Mrs.Gandhi,Jagjvanram.They can't stand any one more competent than them. Not surprised.sonia's disrespect for PVNarsimharao is well known. But gret sons don't need nobels and Bharat ratnas. They live in the hearfs of all like Gandhiji, patel.

Lt. Gen. Dipendar Singh is correct. India shyed away from using Fild Marshal Sam Manekshaw after his term as COAS. Though a Field Marshal never retires, the nation was made to believe otherwise. At least our Govt should award him Bharat Ratna and honour him. God bless him and may his suol rest in peace.
