The N-deal
by jane on Jul 01, 2008 03:36 AM

There is more politics in economics than economics in politics and with individual being above the nation in a globalised economy one can hardly expect anything better or concrete. For men may and come men may go but benefits flows on for ever. The dictum at present is how to extract maximum personal advantage before the elections as the opportunity knocks only once.Statesmanship is obsolete and governance is immaterial as the widening of gap between the rich and poor is global phenomenon and can always be exonerated.

by Thrinadh vasantavada on Jun 30, 2008 10:48 AM

The much praised and sincere and only honest man in congress is branded as inefficiant by left, when he has refused to toe their line on 123 deal.this was result of taking support of left who are most untrustworthy politicians in the counry.
now they are telling that he has not heeded to their advice on containing price raise.then why they have not withdrawn support?
now they wants to use this 123 issue to polarise votes calling muslims are againist this agreement. no ordinary muslim is intrerested in all these things as long as he is satisfied with roti, kapada and makan,

India can be independently self sufficient, if the Nuke agreement is not signed with U.S.!
by Gautam nil on Jun 28, 2008 02:09 AM

1) It seems that Dr.Manmohan Singh is either mesmerized or terrorized, showing the possibility of imposing sanctions against India and also pointing out at possibility of similar consequences of Iraq, if an agreement was not signed.
2) Other dignitaries like the Indian Ambassador to U.S., and others including the retired ones seem to support the agreement due to selfish expectations for either promotions or other benefits such as getting assignments like certain nodal positions in some commissions etc., later!
3) The precedent of all affairs of U.S. with various countries inclusive of the U.N., except with few supporting ones like U.K. etc., as recorded in the world history is notorious and purely selfish, leading to massacres of thousands of innocent people, ending in aggression, violating all the normal resolutions of UN., They played havoc and continue to play still!
4) Don’t we possess conscience, as a nation descending with those high traditions of culture of moral values which is the pride of our nation that stands conspicuous even today? Will such conscience allow our nation to enter into an agreement with such rogue country full of bleeding sins! Don’t we sympathize with those thousands of innocents who laid their heads for not their crimes? Are we to wash their sins? God will never spare!

by Gautam nil on Jun 28, 2008 02:08 AM

5) Any simple brain will ever hesitate to sign an agreement with a country with such bad and notorious precedent to avoid any aggression of our country by some cunning catches as they played with other countries!
6)We are like a mouse in front of the strongest US defence to even to think of any conquest!
7) Chinese defence is no doubt massive one with a challenging defence to face U.S.!
8) No major benefit when compared to such a great risk for our nation!
9) We can explore possibility tapping resources of energy from the 90% wastage water that floats into sea, abundance of unconventional energy resources like wind power and solar energy which are available in plenty! These are definitely practicable!
10) These will solve the problem of rural power and agricultural power too.
11) This will solve unemployment problem too to a great extent!

12) We have got plenty of thorium deposits along the coast of Kerala which if utilized will easily solve our power problem for next 500 years to come!
13) As this is possible in next five years, we can, meanwhile sped up addition of hydro-electric and other non conventional energy resources that are easy!
14) This will avoid our falling prey to U.S., by their cunning traps as we cannot forget the cunning plot of East India Company's cunning plot to capture our nation!
15) We will be self sufficient without any obligation to any other nation of the world!
16) This episode of nuke agreement is nothing but a trap to retard our progress as U.S. is worried about our progress as it is always worried about any nation's progress due to fear that might be a challenge to their security!
17) Some headless chick signed an agreement with East India Company centuries ago with a very simple Identical reasons, and the entire nation had to struggle for centuries to earn this very costly Independence with heavy losses of thousands of lives, properties with enormous amount of miseries etc., Do we need an agreement so soon to invite another invasion?
18)If this agreement is not signed, India can be a fee nation with self sufficient independent nation for ever!
19) Let healthy brains deliberate without any type of bias with a calm balance and decide as the decision is very crucial for the future generations, who will never forgive us for any notorious blunder!

Another commie trying to salute to China and stating the same old arguments. If we could be self sufficient, how come we are not already after 50 years? We had thorium and scientists all these years.

clearly, the scientific community associated with the nuke energy in india is pleading against this deal. and they back their opposition with convincing argument. congressis have a long track record of messing up every foreign policy issue, this nuke deal won't be their last by any means. india deserves its super smart people to get into politics to establish a firm course on development in all fronts, not just energy. quite obviously this disgraceful gandhi family-party is not india should have to live with in this 21st century when the indians are making a name for themselves n every walk of life in the most advanced economies of the world like usa etc.

Send P.M., and all present decision making top officers home to offer relief to real issues!
by Gautam nil on Jun 28, 2008 01:26 AM

This decision will remain as another historical blot in our Indian history as a strong evidence to show the extent of bad decisions the present so called multi degreed and foreign returned top personalities and beaurocrats could take to plunge the country into darkness! This further stands as a strong evidence to show how much do these so called luminaries fumble to set priorities strictly as per the importance of the burning issues of the nation! Also this goes to show how bad is the administration that is totally unable to organize necessary resources to deploy competent engineers to build up hydro electric power supply by expanding present network of power stations to augment to make it more than self sufficient! Perhaps, the officers and staff have to be chased by competent persons to expand the network to tap from the 90% wastage of water!
Send home P.M., as this is not his personal property and also most of all present I.A.S., and other present decision making officers to be substituted by really competent luminaries, irrespective of present degrees that have proved beyond doubt that they are incapable of taking right decisions and implementing them as per the transparent results perceived actually which have plunged the nation into complete chaos in all fields almost, if the largest majority of the people will have to survive!

His Masters Dog
by Red Pascal on Jun 26, 2008 09:51 PM

Well the master itself is in an akward position, having opposed the deal the BJP itself negotiated because the deal came through when they were in the opposition, now they understand that the deal is good but having taken a public posture cannot get off the high horse, what else explains BJP leaders questioning the lefts allegiance over opposing the deal ? Well your master is confused Mr Shenoy, maybe you are barking up the wrong tree ?
